Because the wealthy elite needs both sides divided and fighting, can't have both sides setting aside their difference and joining forces to topple the corrupt elite. The divide has gotten the point everyone defaults to cheap attacks and name calling instead taking the time to understand and civilly debate opposing view points. The divide is no longer limited to left vs right, and experiencing did of right vs right and left vs left. Left vs left divide is why I became a independent.

Mitt Romney said it when he ran for president. There are 47% of the country that is collecting some kind of government assistance VS. the people that have to pay for it all.

The democrats started the so called war on poverty during the Johnson administration. What we got instead was more poverty. It is getting to the point whare the welfare class will have a majority and can just vote for candidates that will promise them more money and benefits. America is ready for a national divorce.
