In your opinion, when do you think America became so divided? Do you believe America will become more divided or will we eventually come together in love for our country? And for those that says yes, why is America divided or feels divided to you? And what are your thoughts are the growing political divide in America? And what do you think can be done about it?

1 yI believe America has a division problem, where we stick to our lane and are rigid to change to become more ‘center lane’ on issues also less likely to hear opinions from the other side. We buy into ‘culture wars’ where even the most basic things can be divisive.
In your opinion, when do you think America became so divided? Since no one did anything about Slavery in The United States of America - Before and After The Civil War - 2016 Election - 2020 Election Do you believe America will become more divided or will we eventually come together in love for our country? More divided as corporate entities influence the news stories we consume and pour millions / billions into elections to get their guy elected and not a man/woman for the people And for those that says yes, why is America divided or feels divided to you?You can say the least controversial thing and people will jump down your throat to say ‘you’re wrong’ And what are your thoughts are the growing political divide in America? It is sad for our country from Left to Right And what do you think can be done about it?Value human beings and know that regardless what side of the spectrum you are on, there are people who care about this country just want to see it in a different direction though want what’s best for their home so be willing to listen and comfort them not demonize them.

1 yAbsolutely. As bad as I’ve seen in my lifetime. Hard to argue it’s worse than The Civil War, being that it was an actual secession and military engagement, but at least ideologically, it’s really bad.
I’ll sound biased for my side of things, of course, but even trying to be as objective as I possibly can, the other side is simply no longer operating within the boundaries of reality. That’s what makes all this so difficult. It’s not debating over the facts. They don’t like facts. They brought their own “alternative facts”, and they’ll tell you that YOU’RE the crazy one for believing the actual, real life facts.
I feel like the whole Trump thing is in response to Obama being elected, not because of his politics so much, but just because he broke a barrier that made racists uncomfortable. I don’t forget people hanging dummies in effigy from trees and labeling it “Obama”, before he even did anything. And they’ll of course tell you it’s some other reason, but don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining, we know what this is about. But Trump himself is the biggest culprit for one main reason: he presented this dumbass concept of “fake news.” It’s a classic “kernel of truth” lie. But this dude just gave idiotic Americans a forever permission slip to just dismiss information they don’t like, or makes them uncomfortable, or damages their desired position or narrative, and they are abusing the FUCK out of it.
Like it’s now just a reflex for them. “Hey, Trump did x/y/z bad thing…” or “Trump is clearly lying about this, that, or the third thing, you should really consider that in your assessment of his fitness as a politician…” “Nah, that’s all fake news from the radical left media because they hate America and they hate Trump because he’s so fucking strong and awesome.” Oh, ok….🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 Like these are just wildly, WILDLY unserious people.
But honestly, more than divided…. we’re just so fucking ignorant and uninformed, across the board. I get so frustrated debating politics because I’ll bring up something that’s common knowledge if you pay attention all the time, and some idiot who just turns off their PlayStation for a couple weeks right before the election every four years, and start coming at you with strong opinions, but the thing I bring up, they’re like “what? I never heard of that, what are you talking about?” Right, of course you haven’t, because you shouldn’t even be fucking voting because you’re not doing the required homework and taking this seriously. Then some jabroni they work with who they just think is a funny guy says some ridiculous untrue political bullshit because he reads online conspiracy theories, and the first guy is just like “huh…. well, if Dave the warehouse foreman says the Covid vaccine turns you gay, then it must be true.” Like just unbelievable levels of willful stupidity, because most Americans only give a shit about their own personal entertainment.
Even the MAGA movement is just entertainment to a lot of these people. They want a hat and a t-shirt and a bumper sticker, and to feel like they belong to something. But I’ve watched HOURS of people interviewing people at MAGA rallies, and the one common denominator seems to be that they have nothing deeper than a slogan or a catchphrase they were taught, and their Kryptonite is a follow-up question that asks them to explain how they arrived at their opinion.
I saw another video asking Americans BASIC American history and geography questions, like stuff you don’t even get out of high school without covering. One kid was asked who the Civil War was fought between (North vs South, or the US vs the Confederacy). One girl said “America and Mexico?” Another guy said “East vs West?”
”Who did America fight in the Revolutionary War?”, the war that literally resulted in our country’s governmental existence, famously vs England. Everybody knows that. Right? RIGHT? Nope…. some lady goes “um…. Spain?” Someone else didn’t know that we took part in World War I.
I mean…. you have to be fucking kidding me🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ You have to be absolutely. Fucking. KIDDING ME. That is SHOCKINGLY stupid. There are people here who can’t tell you that stuff, but could give a detailed history of the very non-existent land of Westeros from Game Of Thrones, but can’t tell you when The War of 1812 occurred. I’m not kidding, that was another one that was answered incorrectly. We are so painfully ignorant, it makes my head hurt.
And then these same people suddenly decide they should be voting, after spending the previous 3 years and 11 months from the previous election shoving potato chips into their face and chugging Mountain Dew soda on a couch, paying attention to nothing but a video game, or pro sports, or some stupid Netflix series, or reality television. And now here we are🤷♂️🤦♂️😭
So much more to say but I gotta run. Pray for us.

Wow, you like to write. Anyway, the media does support fake news and evidently they must be very easy and even willing to be manipulated. Now they are all saying, wait were we lied too? :D. Yep.

@Jersey2 Well, fuck, stop reading then, if it’s too many words and not enough crayon scribbles. I don’t need to know you, bro😂
I’m not even touching this one because it’s disgusting and classless to even discuss a man’s cancer diagnosis in this manner and at this time, so I’m not fully informed, and moreover, that’s just not the type of scumbag I am.
But surely you understand that a President is merely the figurehead of the sum total of an entire administration and agenda, as is the case with Donald “I don’t even know her, Bobby recommended her” Trump. Everything can continue to operate with or without the POTUS available. Also, even you’re the president, your health is still nobody’s business but your own.
Also, all usual rules of decorum are out the window because MAGA, despite the name suggesting the opposite, is existentially threatening to the good version of America that we had til ten years ago that I don’t want to see us ever depart from, for all of its flaws. And I just really don’t want to have to move from the country I was born in and intended to die in just because other people here are total pieces of shit. That kinda sucks for me. Quite frankly, I’m BETTER than most of these people, and I don’t even mind saying it, since they’ve shown their true selves in such an egregious manner. It’s not even that I’m so good via my actions, but just they’re all so bad, I’m angelic by comparison. And that REALLY sucks, cuz I ain’t perfect, but more and more I’m realizing what wholly terrible people Americans are. And the ones who aren’t organically terrible are painfully stupid, more than I can stand to be in the company of. - 1 y
@Jersey2 In my perception, I’ve just had the rug pulled out from under me. America isn’t who I thought we were, and that makes me unbelievably sad and disappointed. We’re capable of so much more, and better, but our PEOPLE don’t want. That sucks, and we suck, collectively, as a result. I have no patience for mortally flawed character in people. It’s so fucking achievable, and we’re just like “nah…”
But yeah, combatting MAGA is literally an effort to save decent-America-that-we-can-be-proud-of. So all bets are off, and almost no wrong could be possible done in pursuit of that effort. We’re in a battle with literal traitors to the country and Constitution, this is win at all costs or R. I. P. America. - 1 y
Your last sentence is exactly how I feel. “ We’re in a battle with literal traitors to the country and Constitution, this is win at all costs or R. I. P. America.”. Many Trump voters felt that way. Biden and Obama were terrible Presidents. Biden was actually worse but as President Obama split us with Identity Politics to win his second term which is why we are where we are.
And if Joe Biden and his family and friends did what they say, F Joe Biden and good that he will be leaving soon. I do think he was corrupt along with his wife son and many around him. He also had dementia that was hidden along with his cancer that he let slip out at a news conference a few years ago and his pals cleaned up by saying it was a gaff. You remember or saw the video, right? People are sharing it. Liars, all of them. Power hungry, greedy and corrupt politicians and shitbags who hurt Americans vs helped them.
Go join Rosie in Ireland… oh wait, she is back already.
It's divided because of the left-wing fake news media propaganda keeps dividing the people, and because the DemocRat party has tons of corrupt donors like George Soros. Luckily we have the Make America Great Again movement that will completely drain the swamp in Washington.
2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Obama dived us to win his second election with Identity Politics. Now it continues but it is running out of gas as the majority of Hispanic men voted Trump in 2024. 20-25% of black men as well, which is way up since Obama. White women also voted Trump.
People feel played by Biden and his inner circle. The polling for the Democrats is disastrously low now. They always bark that “if the election were held now” but its all BS.
People are moving right. The Left and the Left mass media are getting left behind and they don’t know what to do about it. They are screwed as people are so on to their BS now. So, to answer your question, we are coming together now.

1 yYes. It's always been divided, but about 15+ years ago it started to really accelerate. Because
1) Obama actively stirred up racial and class warfare.
2 The Internet, which both fans the flames and is a massive misinformation highway.
3) Affluence. The country has become so affluent that people have too much time on their hands. Too much leisure. People seriously don't realize how spoiled they are.10 Reply - 7.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 y100% it is, and it's largely by way of our media, which might possibly be intentional or by way of enemies working to destroy us. I suspect though, it's just the nature of cycles and our own stupidity to allow it.
Talk to people here, and you'll see a strong division in how they see and perceive.

This is diving into the snake den voluntarily, and believing you can withstand all the bites. This is badassery on a historical unprecedented level. Trump takes badassery even among Terminator and Robocop and Die Hard. He's a legend whether you like him or not. I think he's one of the greatest people alive right now, probably greater than Jesus Christ, Gandhi, maybe even Marcus Aurelius in terms of sheer balls.

1 yI think some people were not raised to believe in equality or they are so busy trying to punish bad people, they end also causing collateral damage to good people. You cannot build a society on negatives, because hate has no economic benefit. Some people don’t know that because they lack experience or exploration.

1 y@Lucy68 hmm obviously im not American, I think America is not divided as such yet going through a transition to a smaller influence, smaller economy, smaller stock market - basically China and other billion population countries, are larger than a population of only 300 million or so who aren't all working 7 days a week lol 😆

1 yThe more we go on and the more openly authoritarian the Trump regime acts the less we will be divided. At least that’s my hope. His disapproval rating keeps going down and soon i think only Trump and his most loyal of sycophants will continue to support him. They’ll basically be isolated from everyone else in our country in their loyalty to him. So for now it is a but divided but i see and hope most people will wake up and unite against him in the next year or so.

Anonymous(30-35)1 yYes, we are deeply divided. The division started during the Obama assessment and ramped up during and after the 2016 election. Most of the blame lies with MSM and social media outlets. The division has gotten to the point there is no in-between, your either 100% with us or you support the other side. The extreme division has made politics extremely toxic to the point you can't discuss and debate different views without people getting toxic.
00 Reply12.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. This division is a product of the Boomer generation. Like KKK Racists just stay away from lefties and let them die away. Don't marry them, work for them, let them teach children or vote for them. Hire them. We just have to wait them out.
