The U. S. is very, almost dangerously, politically and socially divided. What do you think it will take to unite the sides?

As sad and tragic as Charlie Kirk's assassination was, I believe something good will come from it. I feel like it has begun to unite Americans in a way we haven't been united in a very long time. We are united against the hatred that has been spawned and fostered by a particular ideological element. That hatred has been festering and manifesting in the hate-driven violence we have been seeing.

The name of the organization Kirk co-founded is ironically appropriate. I believe we have reached a Turning Point in the US. We have a long road ahead of us, but we are moving in the right direction for the first time in a long time. We are taking the steps to heal from all the harm done by that ideological element. We are headed toward a better place.

It won't be united by politics or policy. The division is a symptom of a clash between two different modes of consciousness, two spiritual forces. One side is driven by hard, abstract, Ahrimanic thinking. The other is driven by emotional, Luciferic feeling. The only way out is for people to stop thinking like members of a tribe and start thinking freely, individually, and spiritually about the real issues of freedom and community. A new, conscious spiritual reality has to be created, not just argued for.

Honestly, two things. Mass general tragedy and no politicans, or for one side to be shamed into oblivion.

Our president would have to tell the truth about what is dividing us. The latest is Kirk. Kirk has publicly spoken of his dislike of anyone not white. He has also stated that he feels that the deaths of many is necessary to protect the rights of people to have weapons. Then Trump blamed his death on a Democrat. It was found out later that his killer is part of a right wing family that supports Trump, But Trump doubled down against Democrats by blaming them again, and then has made a martyr of Kirk by ignoring Kirk's hatred of people of color and using our tax money to fly his body on Air Force 2 and providing more money to his family, though Kirk was extremely rich when he was killed.

Self reflection that we're all human and entitled to live happily and freely despite our differences.

Also we need to understand the difference that right wing and left wing mainstream media hosts don't represent all of us. When they say outrageously dangerous rhetoric we need to distinguish that doesn't mean your neighbors who voted for Harris or whoever voted for Trump is evil or a present danger to you.

We have to be ok with each other's differences and live with each other and figure out the economic issues that all avg Americans are suffering under

I've found cases we can talk peacefully and get along... in person. You have to let the inflammation go down, listen and not react.

Some can do it.

Beyond that, something like "all sides" in media where the media is less biased on both sides.

There is nothing remaining. The left has made it abundantly clear that they are willing and able to murder anyone and everyone who doesn’t wholly agree with them.

Probably people like Bill Maher. He often talks actual good sense. The pink hair pronoun people can't be dealt with by either side, they are actually insane. We've all seen the Charly Kirk celebration videos. Those people never knew sanity. Another thing, we need to address these university professors and administrators that are teaching young people to kill.

There's only one side causing division, like there's only one side invading countries like Ukraine and Gaza, and they don't want to stop. What it will take will be everyone else in the US and in the world to stop them, hopefully diplomatically or at the ballot box.

Well, Republicans will have to stop killing everyone and then trying to frame Democrats. The registered Republican who shot at Trump in PA, the former Trump voter who tried outside his golf course in Florida, the Trump supporter who killed the politicians in Minnesota, the gun-loving MAGA white boys who fired at people at FSU earlier in the year and now killed Kirk. When will they stop? They constantly try to pin it on Democrats and then we always find out who is really behind it.

You can't live and let live if one side celebrates when a normal person is killed. There is unity only when you have a substrate of shared values. But if one side views the other as nothing more than a speed bump on their road to power, then you have an existential clash of ideas.

There are very few instances in history where this did not lead to war.
