Leftists are WAY too happy about letting KNOWN violent offenders run around and do as they please. Meanwhile they target LAW ABIDING gun owners for meaningless infractions that they wouldn’t even consider applying against actual criminals!

The particular case you mentioned involves a 77 year old using a stolen gun to kill a person that appears to have attempted a burglary using a crowbar and a fake gun. The 77 year old was arrested in relation to the investigation but was not charged with a crime and was later released without being charged with anything. That is just the system working as intended (although there is still the question of the stolen gun).

The 77 year old was involved in a crime and possibly (even if unlikely) guilty of murder so obviously the police should apprehend them until they complete an investigation to see what actually happened and if there was a crime (such as murder) committed.

I am not sure you understand how the system works. Ever heard of innocent until proven otherwise? The police dont just assume that the 77 year old is guilty or even that the people breaking in is guilty. Their job is to secure suspects and collect evidence. They did their job to the letter as far as I am concerned.

It is quite unreasonable to hold him in prison. How fast can a 77 yo run? He is not exactly a flight risk.

He is more likely to have bought a stolen gun than to have stolen a gun. If he thought whoever sold him the gun was the legitimate owner of it, then in most jurisprudence's that makes him the legitimate owner. Only if the seller had told him he had stolen the firearm would he have been in possession of a stolen firearm.

I daresay he has broken some regulations depending on Oakland rules.

That’s nonsense. There are dozens of prominent cases in the news RIGHT NOW of democrat run jurisdictions letting violent offenders go without bail. All are in the news because the offenders SURPRISE!!! attacked again.
If you’re referring to a homeowner defending himself from multiple invaders as “vigilante justice”, pull your head out of your ass. If those criminals hadn’t been breaking into another person’s home at the time, he would NOT have killed them. It’s not like he was driving around looking for trouble. It’s simple A-B-Cs. If the thugs hadn’t been breaking into someone else’s home (A), then B & C would not have happened. The report on the firearm is incomplete. For all we know it was HIS gun that HE reported stolen and eventually recovered it himself because the cops are useless to law abiding citizens in California. Even if he reported it in a timely fashion, their accounting could be years out. Using it as an excuse to marginalize someone who was merely defending himself and his home is textbook government tyranny. And people believing that shit from a known corrupt government organization is no better.
