America's Leadership problem or Government too large to govern problem?
Ryan Chapman observe that expectations are too high to be met by anyone, and detail the ways modern President's really don't control even the executive branch they were elected to run as a result of sheer size and diversity of issues.
Only to then end on a note the problem somehow being the American people's learned pessimism about the office being related to why we are somehow we just are not getting "supermen to run" because we are too harsh.
Is it not possible that supermen required don't actually exist? Therefore the office itself is simply now too powerful to be ungovernable?

The problem is the rich have too much influence and have used that influence to ensure the rest of us have neither the time nor the knowledge to influence the government from our end.
@normalice
You have the same vote as any 'rich' man and likely more time to study the issue than they do.
The 'rich' man probably just has better judgement than you because that same judgement did after-all make him 'rich'.
Some 'rich' people such as people who run media empires social, entertainment, news or otherwise do indeed control most of your information and therefore you to a large extent.
But even the president in charge of the executive branch with the power to replace the source of his information is never able to even know what his own branch is doing.
Clearly all the 'influence' in the world is worthless if you can't control the fire-hose.
Nope, rich people can and do create whole fully staffed industries out of studying the issues and how they can manipulate the system. Lobbyists, think tanks, lawyers.. I have to go to work and make shit. They go to work and figure out how to get more money for the rich from the government. They don't have to do it in their spare time like the rest of us would have to - it's their whole career.
