What is the definition of woke?

I'm confused, because from what I understand, woke is when there is a preaching of ideology in history, but there are stories in which there is no ideology and that are called woke. So what is the definition of woke?

I reckon the term is stupid and I'm quite sick of it...
... BUT as far as I can tell it mostly involves pushing particular ideologies in contexts where they don't make sense or are actively history-revisionist. Usually for "representation"... or trying to have things banned because their feelings got hurt.

For instance, people demanding LGBT representation in a kids cartoon where there is no sexuality in the first place. Or insisting on having at least half the population be black in a medieval North European setting. Or getting an entire show taken off the air because some character used a word that has homophobic connotations in Spanish.

That sorta stuff.

Then again, right-wing retards tend to overuse the term to such utter extremes that they're killing their own argument. Like crying about two guys kissing in a game and claiming they were forced to view it because they deliberately went through all the necessary steps to make it happen. Or because Male and Female bodies in the character creator are labelled "Type A" and "Type B".

Honestly, I'm sick of both Left-Wing and Right-Wing idiots finding new and ever stupider excuses for crying about stuff.

Historically, it referred to a realization that someone (usually the government or otherwise "the system") was actually exploiting people (usually black people) rather than helping them. Sometime fairly recently however, it got hijacked and now most often refers to race or gender-swapping established characters in stories and media, and revisionist history centered around intersectional feminism or afro-centrism, usually with little to no actual evidence on the historical side, and used as a cudgel and shield for untalented activist writers in entertainment. The term is falling out of favor though in favor of DEI and ESG, due to the fact the perpetrators proudly through those acronyms around themselves to virtue signal, and so it can just be thrown right back at them.

In a lot of ways, it parallels "red-pilling," which started off much the same way on a broader spectrum, but now often refers to a radical side of the men's rights movement.

Some things don't make sense to me. One of the arguments most used by right-wingers is that the problem is not race or sexual orientation, but rather not being original. Based on your first example, it is impossible to create a story with an original trans character without it being woke. A story in which there is no political agenda and that focuses only on the daily life of a person who happens to be trans would be called woke just because it has a trans character. Based on your first example, the only way I see it possible to create a trans character without being called woke is if the character is a right-wing trans person who fights left-wing trans characters. This way right-wingers don't complain that it's an agenda.
And right-wingers are complaining in films where black characters are original too, so it doesn't make any difference if they change the race, because they'll complain anyway.

Does not make sense. The fact that a country has more white people does not mean that other races need white people around them. Black people, for example, can be protagonists in their own stories. Following your reasoning, what are Japanese animes where the story takes place in Japan and the protagonist is white?

If we are to use your logic, everything is woke, and if everything is woke, then nothing is woke. Bad Boys: Ride or Die has black protagonists, Bad Boys is woke in its logic. No show outside of Africa, black neighborhoods, etc., can have black protagonists with this logic. It seems more like protagonism syndrome than Woke.

No, the characters are actually white. I wouldn't use it as an example if that were the case. Stories in which Japanese people die and are reincarnated in another world where the world is based on European mythology, the characters are white, the mythological creatures are European (elves, elves, ogres, dwarves, etc.) and the protagonist is Asian. The world doesn't revolve around white people and no race should stop being a protagonist in its own history because white people are the majority, that doesn't make any sense. In South Africa the majority of the population is black, but if an independent artist decides to create a story in which the protagonists are white, what is the problem? The world does not revolve around any race.

My answer was essentially that the opinions you're focused on are in the minority and nowhere close to the mainstream. So what prevents it is that no one even cares about it.

I mentioned crime stats for London because the show is about black people in London. Blacks commit a disproportionate amount of crime in London. To me that's a more pertinent issue than some benign white racism.
