Was Joe Biden OVER-PREPARED for the Trump Debate?

The day after the 27 June 2024 debate, Democrats, Republicans and most media are reporting that President Joe Biden did a poor, some say disastrous, showing at the debate with former President Donald Trump.

I'm wondering, though. Biden's answers seemed to always be scripted, and when he couldn't remember the exact words he was told about during his 5 days of preparation, he faltered, mumbled, and sometimes ending what he was saying well before his time was up. At a post-debate party, it's reported that he was much more vigorous, spoke clearly, and more able to say exactly what was on his mind.

Was he over-prepared? Did his prep team drill him so hard to say only the correct words that he faltered when he couldn't remember exactly what he was supposed to say? Should his prep team be fired for doing that?

Its rather sad to watch a man in a position he should not be in struggle like this. This is elder abuse by Joe Biden's handlers

That said I got the same sense in past debates on many network's democrats do not soo much react to their opponents as provide pre-scripted responses suggesting they had the questions up front.

I think its fairly clear this is happening, and that it was hinted at in the emails regarding the debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Thus showing the press is playing favorites not just in their coverage but how they conduct debates as well.

I'd like to see debates where the questions are completely unknown to the candidates, and could be completely randomly submitted. And no notes would be allowed.

I agree with you. How about the classic debate, not these moderated interviews. Let the candidates ask each other questions. Let's say they take turns asking and answering, 3 minutes each question, 3 minutes each answer. That would be interesting.

If the debate had been typed out rather than verbally uttered, I think Biden would have gotten a very positive response. His vocal cords are not very sharp because of his physical weakness and age but that does not diminish the quality of his brain or responses, it's just perceived as less intelligent because of his appearance and functional weakness.

Not a fan of debates, they're a measurement of showmanship rather than substance.
I was taught not to remember things parrot fashion because under pressure ifyou slip it shows and its hard to recover. Just remember short introductory phases and let your mind fill in the rest.

Unfortunately, for him he was not over prepared. His age and dementia is no longer catching up with him, it's just more clear now, and the people who have kept him hidden for the last 5 plus years know this. It is very scary to think that this man is and has been running this country. It was painful and at times sad to watch him decline before our eyes.

You have a point there. I think he was also running a fever and showed a bit of nerves. And for the conspiracy mongers, he obviously wasn’t using amphetamine and did not have the debate questions beforehand.

They have to try to over prepare him and juice him up because if they don't it would be a total disaster more worse than it already is trying to have him follow a script. Biden often messes up loke he did during the debate, it is just that liberal media often doesn't show the footage, but I have seen the videos on other news programs for the last few years so I was not surprised at all. Biden also had notes to cheat with too during the debate. Also, Biden lying is nothing new either. But most Democrats don't care because they hate America and want Biden to do as much harm as he can.
