Clearly he is non compos mentis, but he’s made it clear that his is NOT dropping out! So it’s not an issue of should he run, he actually IS running for re-election. I don’t know how they will stop him! If they 25th amendment him, then Kamala Harris would be president. I don't know how they would stop him.

Obviously, he is not competent to serve as president. But it is up to the individual states to allow or not allow a substitute candidate to appear on the ballot. It's not as simple as just saying, "Okay, Gavin, you take my place."

@FunkyMonkee If they removed him now, that would be an admission that he is currently incompetent, and that forces them to remove him under the 25th Amendment. That makes Kamala Harris the president and then she should be the nominee; most of us know that she is not capable of being dog catcher and she is as unelectable as Joe (but for different reasons.) However, failure to make Harris the candidate would alienate the black vote which has not already abandoned the Democrat party. I think the DNC would rather lose this election than permanently lose the black vote.

Yeah but, we've already SEEN THAT! The whole world has! Now they know how weak we are and might attack before the "bad old orange man" gets in and takes their toys away from them. I think President Biden can stay in the race if he focuses his campaign message on Infrastructure, Veteran benefits, Job investments that will bring thousands of job opportunities, show his Bipartisan history, Pandemic recovery efforts that helped Americans get back to the workforce without fear or worry, and made true progress in bringing jobs to America that we once lost it will definitely help win people over. I saw him at Stonewall with Elton John and he really did better since his cold was going away.

The final take I have is, President Biden should educate people locally why President Trump’s immigration policy, tariff ideas, and extremist ideology is bad for not only Americans working 9-5 and making chicken scraps, but also to the economy in the Capitalist long term. Immigrants are a low skilled workforce that are happy to take below average wages since it is more money than they saw in their place of origin. They are happier to not have benefits since that is more benefits or same they had in their place of origin. As natural born Americans go to high skilled work, there will be less to do construction on the roads, working with their hands making shelters/houses, flipping burgers, etc. so the economy will tank without a low skill work force for the elites to take advantage of which comes at the cost of Americans already here since when one of us don’t do well, the rest of us don’t we’ll feel it in our pockets then and wonder why didn’t we allow immigration… Tariffs are also a bad idea for historical evidence showcasing they raise prices, reduce quantity of goods & services, results in us having lower income, reduced employment, and lower economic output.

If you read the whole passage, you would know why. It is not I want him to stay, it is that he can stay if he follows this guide.
I think Democrats and Republicans should just agree Trump is too extreme & not what this country represents and in agreeing to change candidates Biden should step down allowing a new nominee to be chosen. That is what I actually believe.

Again IF Biden follows the guideline above, he can salvage his campaign though I truly would like Trump & Biden to go away.

Yes of course. He still has the best chance of beating Trump. That's why republican controlled media outlets like NYT are pushing the narrative that he should drop out. Republicans are well aware no sane person would want their policies. So they know they aren't going to expand their appeal beyond anyone who is desperate for inherent or otherwise unearned validation. They know their only play here is to diminish turnout for Biden. 100% of the vast influence republicans have in the media is now directed towards that purpose. Any other candidate that isn't just going to cut taxes for the rich while raising taxes for the poor, like Trump and every other Republican always does, would get the same treatment.

Yes- he won the primary. And if he stepped down, at this point, Kamala would take over, and if anything, she's LESS popular than he is.

I'm not sure why so many people don't realize this, but it's important for exchanges of political power to happen every so often. And what I REALLY don't understand is why so many people think Donald Trump would simply declare himself dictator if he was elected, when HE ALREADY WAS PRESIDENT and didn't do anything remotely like that.

I pity the man - he's used up and exhausted. He deserves a rest now.

I pity the U. S. as well - as they apparently can't come up with a man (or woman) who can handle the near future; and in a cultured, informed and non-manipulating way.
