I wish I could write this out but it's better for you to look at its form yourself. Then you can decide who was more truthful, and who was not. All facts about the answers are explained.

The people demand lies. The politicians just give the people what they want.

The people want the president to solve all real or perceived problems. But the president doesn't have the power or authority to do those things. The thing is that most people know the president can't do those things, but they want to hear it anyway. What else do they have to go on?

So the president and candidates tell the people lies. The people can't handle the truth. So it's an emotional play. Which candidate do the people "feel" better about, regardless of what the president can actually do. In some ways, that's how it should be. The president is a leader, and a leader gives hope. As long as the presidents keeps saying everything will be OK, then they are at least getting that part of their job right.

Well, whether on the good or wrong side of the political tendencies, one should keep in mind what's clearly demonstrated in "Star Wars": "Never trust a politician". All politicians tell more or less lies, but in this particular case, Trump versus Biden, no one in their right mind should doubt Trump is the king of lies... No offense meant ;0)

I agree with your last statement. But, I have to disagree with your statement about politicians in general. I don’t think they’re all mistrustful. Some of them are actually decent, and I can name a few. They may make tons of money but that goes with the job.

Sure there are decent politicians of at least good will, but how can they catch the attention of people in order to get elected? Promises they know not being able to really honour. But yes, I also know some politicans of sincere good will. In general nevertheless, what a mess when think of my own country... Meanwhile, Best Wishes for what's going to happen in the US.

In debates, politicians always stretch the truth. Some may call these lies, others just trying to make a point. I've learned to never trust anything a politician says during a debate.

Most of what CBS calls a lie is an exaggeration. Trump says he had the best economy in history. It was really the best in decades.
Biden lied when he said trump said the suckers and losers thing. CBS mentioned "Unnamed military people" Trump has19 people who are identified that said it never happened. The same thing with the very fine people quote. This was a lie. It has been shown that the if you watch the entire video it is shown to be taken out of context. Biden did want open borders. He actually went to South America to tell people that nobody would be sent back. If that is not wanting open borders i do not know what is.

I actually heard the speech when Trump called those military men who were caught, “losers”. So that’s no lie. Biden does not want open borders. That’s why the people coming through are much less now than it was before. He signed a bill that would restrict that. Check it out if you don’t believe it.

He signed a bill that looked like it was restricting them. There are so many exceptions that it really did nothing to stop it and did nothing to deport them which is what really needs to happen. I looked all over the internet and could not find Trump calling veterans suckered and losers. If it really happened it would be all over Google. There were many people who were there that said it never happened. The Secret Service was concerned about a storm so they told Trump he should not go for security purposes. I also heard that John Bolton started that rumor. He hates Trump so I would not believe it anyway

PS — it wasn’t Biden who said that, unless you mean he mentioned it on the debate. It was reported because he mentioned it to an official in Paris when he was there. I remember he complained about the rain and did not go to the cemetery because of it. Then, he mentioned that insult.

the Atlantic is not a news magazine. Just this statment alone tells me it is a lie.

Nobody was specifically named.
Trump disputed this and many people who were there came forward to say it was a lie.

Trump doesn't know HOW to tell the truth. He can't do it. Virtually every word out of him is a lie. Biden lied too, but he's not in Trump's league.

The whole thing was a farce and an embarrassment to all involved, including and especially CNN. Glad I didn't watch and only viewed the "lowlights" afterwards, as there were no highlights. Neither of these guys should be President, but if I'm forced to choose, it's anyone but Trump. Read Project 2025, Amy.
