Are you for abortion or against it?

On one hand, I'm pro-choice in situations that involve rape and if done in the first semester. On the other hand, I'm pro-life if after the first semester.

Like a lot of things in life, we have to be responsible with our choices. You shouldn't have sex without protection if you don't want a baby, just because of inconvenience. If anything, to guard yourself against STDs. What if you were that baby they sucked out of the uterus? Who could that fetus of become? It's hard to say. Maybe they did the world a favor if it grew up to be a killer, or maybe they just took away someone who would have brought nothing but laughter and warmth to the world.

They also use the unborn fetus cells in a lot of products. So you pay for the abortion, and they also make more money from harvesting fetus cells. That is disgusting.

I’m actually BOTH! I am vehemently Pro-Choice! I believe that NO girl or woman should have to go through with carrying the fetus of her rapist! Nor should a woman be forced to choose between a death sentence, or facing prison time, if there is something wrong that could cause her (and the baby) to die if she carries it to term! So in cases of rape, incest, or the life of the mother, I believe it is 100% the choice of the mother! As long as there are no detectable brainwaves! To me, if the cessation of brain activity means their life has ended, or in other words, death! Then the start of brainwaves means life has begun! Period, end of sentence, full stop! That usually occurs at the end of the first trimester

However, despite me being absolutely 100% pro-choice, I’m also very anti-abortion! Except in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is in danger! I mean I don’t protest it, and I would never even dare to be so arrogant as to try to impose my morality or personal belief on another woman if she were ever in that situation! As people often say, “if you are against abortion, then don't get one!” that’s exactly what I mean by my being pro-choice, but anti-abortion.

I actually needed an abortion when I was just 13 years old, after I was raped repeatedly for months by my father’s brother! Also, as if the universe was rubbing salt in the wound, because I had a developmental delay, my life was quite literally in danger! I was raped, it was incest, and the life of me, the mother was in danger, I was all three, and yet I still carry the guilt of that! It was a heart wrenching experience. That unless I was going to die, I would never repeat it!

This is not a question I wanted to answer, at all! This is all still a very painful for me. But people need to get out of the logical fallacy of “the prison of two ideas” that you either have to be pro-choice, or pro-life, you can be both! Against abortion for yourself, but compassionate enough to allow a rape or incest survivor, or a woman who has been told that the pregnancy may very likely kill her, to make the choice that is right for her!

I’ll preface by saying I’m also pro gun. I know… shocking. Because for whatever reason if you’re pro one of these you’re anti the other.




I think people should have their individual rights,
However… there should definitely be some limitations. Just like the government has limitations on guns, I think it is reasonable to also put some limitations on abortions.




Such as. Not allowing late term abortions (unless an actual diagnosis from a doctor that indicates potential death of the mother if she gives birth) I definitely think it is morally and ethically wrong to kill a fetus when it is kicking and moving around in the uterus. I view it no differently than killing the baby after birth.

Which is funny, Republicans or “right wingers” are typically pro-life. They, like myself think it is wrong when you see stories of same sex couples adopting foster children and then sexually abuse them. However, naturally this makes their views on abortion absolutely stupid.

So you want the government to force women to conceive a child (even in cases were she did not want the child aka rape) then put the child up for adoption and then risk that child being sexually abused or abused by the couple that adopts them… how is that “pro-life” ?

I think adopting is great. Same sex couples abusing them, not so much. I think the idea of abortion is for population control as well as a solution to lifestyle mishaps. If you think about it, unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy, but people roll the dice. So, it's a choice to go unprotected. Just like a choice to drive drunk or go rob a bank, you will face the consequences.

Exactly. And that’s the other reason where I don’t think abortion should be allowed. Abortion should never be used as a means of contraception.

Plan B? Sure. But that’s the max. Because like you said, it’s a choice to have unprotected sex. And there are way more people having unprotected sex without really weighing in the consequences of doing so. Then are shocked when the girl becomes pregnant. Adults need to hold themselves accountable for their decisions.

It’s also not a woman’s fault if she and her partner wanted to and planned for a baby and something wrong happens during the pregnancy that results in them needing to make the tough decision to abort due to potential complications

Totally agree. I'm pro-choice for a woman getting raped and not wanting the baby, understandable. It's her body, and she had her choice made for her forcibly. After the first semester, the second develops a consciousness and other factors that make the baby a living being altogether. I still am pro-choice for after the first, as it's their body, but doesn't make it right.

Pro choice.

Pregnancy carries serious health risks for the mother.
If a complication occurs, I will choose to save the adult, not the fetus.

If rape occurs, the mother should not have to deal with pregnancy or give birth.

If contraception methods fail (as they often do), and the couple doesn't want kids or is incapable of caring for them, they should be able to abort.

I'm also pro life, but to me that concern starts when the fetus becomes a baby, not at conception.

If she carried it to that point, and can give birth without risk, then give it up for adoption if you don't want it.

To me its about what outcome is the least damaging.
To be absolute on either side of that fence is absurd in my opinion.

There is no justifiable reason to be pro-life in most scenarios in 2024. The child is not yet alive, life is not yet made. You have to draw a line somewhere, otherwise masturbation as a man and just existing as a woman are genocides.

There is no reason YOU or anyone else should ever have any control over anyone but yourselves.

And that's not even going in to the fact that often pro-life people don't even care about the quality of life someone has when born; they could not give a rat's ass about their life, so long as they are alive. I get people have unplanned pregnancies and don't want kids but there are heaps of things that can prevent pregnancies, I am against abortions unless it's because of rape etc.. but if you can lay there unprotected and make babies you should be able to raise it.
