Trending & News This would be problematic when considering superpower nations such as Russia, China, and the U. S., because nations like Russia for example, could pay enough people to sway a U. S. election in favor of their prefered candidate, which would likely be a candidate that benefits their interests, rather than ours. Further, when other nations have a hand in your politics, it naturally increases the likelihood of corruption. So no, this would unfortunately make the world a worst off place, because it would diminish each nations autonomy.
That would be insanity , the highest population countries would decide the leaders of all the countries. China and India would likely rule the world.
In any case we already have one leader of the world - MONEY 💰!

I have to relly think if this is better. maybe like a weighted vote.
I have no problem them voting in offline polls to see how they would decide. but the bigger problem is media/news which likely distorts how people see others. those closest to and impacted by decisions should have the power.
however, considering the us president impacts the globe, one wonders. when presidents print money here, they are crushing poor people over there. decisions can have great impact to other lives.
as the globe shrinks we start to wonder what a nation is. will Canada join with russia to become Greater Santaland?
Some already do. For example, one of my professors lived in the US but was married to a Brazilian which automatically granted her and their kid Brazilian citizenship, and they were required to go to the Brazilian embassy and vote in the elections even though they don't live in Brazil. It's kind of stupid. While I understand that foreign policies impact other countries, what can outsiders know about the situation in those countries to make them qualified enough to choose their leaders.
HOWEVER, I do think when it comes to military intervention, then the local people of a country should have a say in whether they want foreign militaries to overthrow their government, help them fight terrorists or set up bases in their countries.
I don't think it would help much, most people have a difficult time paying attention to what their candidates bring to the table in their own country. Often their vote comes down to what their friends are doing and/or popularity and have no clue what the person stands for. I gather, if they were voting for other candidates in other countries it would simply be a popularity vote and not really reflect their knowledge on the candidate.
No. If you have dual citizenship you should only vote in your country of residence in my view.
You and I, as qualifying Commonwealth citizens, could have voted in the recent UK election and even stood for their parliament had we been there in time to register to vote just by having permission to enter.
It would not have been reasonable to do so.
I think RESIDENT property owners regardless of CITIZENSHIP should be allowed to vote in local elections - am USA America that would be local, town and county. They pay taxes, they should get a say! State and federal im not sure about. there's good arguments on both sides.
If the morons in Russia voted for American president we all know they’d skew the vote to sabotage our American Dream by doing Putin’s bidding since they are fed propaganda too much to make a factual, logical, rational decision.
Doesn’t work like that and should not work like that. So no.
Oh Yes that sounds like a real solution to solving a countries problem, having those not living it voting for it's officials.
If you want a vote in American elections apply to join the union either as a state or a person.
Canada unlike the rest of the world can at least argue she has an open invitation in the Articles of Confederation.
Do you have any candidates you are thinking of offering up too? Anyone good? Some countries are in desperate need of better options.
While yes it's too hard hard of a pill for nationalist.
Gotta easy it in with local election and build up from there.
They absolutely should not. It is our country and why should people who do not even live here have a say in our leaders an ultimately laws that will affect us.
Only citizens of that country should be voting in national and local elections.
Nope, why should I get to choose who represents Canada? I am not a Canadian. What Canada passes for laws doesn't effect me. This is why we broke away from Britain. They dictated the laws to us and we had no say in the process.
It would make a difference if votes actually mattered.
They don't
this
You would never want outsiders neighbour or coulleges to take decisions of your house then how a countries prime minister or president can be chosen by other country people
Voting will NEVER make a better place.
It's only good to select a temporary main clown.
It sure sounds like globalism finally complete hahaha 🤣
I love I voted A - all the others voting B - silly fools 😞😞
Fuck no, are you insane? Imagine if the Chinese could just vote Xi Jinping into the office of president of USA.
How exactly would that work? 1 man,1 vote? Because if that were the case you'd be handing the keys to China and India.
No, absolutely not, but leftists are working hard to make it so illegals are allowed to vote for president..
Okay, this is one of the most ignorant questions I've seen here yet!
I don't really see who that would benefit?
Worse place. Bad idea.
They already do...
Only citizens should vote
No, they have to be a citizen to vote
that would be nuts.
No because it's not their nation.
No lol, they'd just sabotage them
If they obtain citizenship yes if not no
Fuck no terrible idea
No, you can vote just for the next time.
LOL.
never
