The kid was almost a revolutionary hero. He knew that he was giving up his life for radical change that would impact the world. Normally I would not condone "political violence" under a standard republican vs democrat power struggle, but I have no sympathy for fascist leadership. What he tried to do was a noble thing. Unfortunately, his ultimate failure has probably set the course towards worse outcomes for the country.
