Yes we are. The Russians, North Koreans, Chinese and Iran are working very closely. The Russians are now using North Koreans in Ukraine, fair chance the Chinese will find their troops or support troops there. Ukraine is or has the potential to turn in to what Spain was before WW2. With those four using the conflict to blood their troops and test systems.
The Russians are buying North Korean ammunition and giving technology in exchange. A North Korea with Russian level weapons and potentially Russian level nuclear weapons.
There is also the political side of it, Europe has recognised that the US will under Trump pull out or sideline NATO, this gives the Russians the ability to carry out further conventional force attacks against the likes of Moldova, Baltics etc. This is why conscription will become a thing in next few years.

Russia and China can let North Korea and Iran attack their natural opponents and sit back. Who exactly will protect Saudi from Iran? Especially if South Korea is also under attack?

There's a sense that this is what the darker forces on earth want. It keeps the population in bondage and fear, and helps gloss over the fact that the paradigm we are living in is coming to an end.

Sadly, the population are so easily duped and are falling into the trap. As they have done with myriad other alleged crises.

Western strategy is very poor. It was pretty obvious that it would just push these 'bad actors' closer together and make them more resilient. Plus no one cares about the 100000s of young Russian and Ukrainian men who are going into the meat grinder. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, as they say.

Yes. Changes in US military recruitment strategy and selective service policy is what I use as a gauge. Obviously the war escalation in CIS and ME are pretty concerning. Especially with one superpower engaged and us basically fighting them. It will likely keep escalating. all of it. I don't think any significant ground war will happen on the soil of US, France, UK, Russia, China, DPRK, India, Israel or Pakistan. But everywhere else will be free game, and it will be one giant proxy war. I think Ukraine will be obliterated and a few ME countries as well.

I'd say we are in it since Putin invaded Ukraine with Xi's "unlimited friendship". Clearly Putin wants to regain USSR borders and Russian people say they deserve an Empire. In the East, Xi is seeking to isolate Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines.

Both Putin and Xi will have limited futures if they aren't successful so they have skin in this game. Fortunately China is having significant issues with floods and a poor economy that might deter but could provoke into going now whilst they can still do so.

I hope we can just end up in Cold War II and sanction both countries back into the Stone Age or pre-industrial at least.

We have been in WW3 since basically the end if WW2. It just was a cold war for a while and then the USSR collapsed. But now they are back in full swing and if they feel like they aren't taking over the world fast enough they will probably just blow it all up.

War is now a hybrid, it isn't a reprise of either world war. But we could have a miscalculation akin to that in 1914, with China reprises the role of Germany, in this case planning on taking out a US which has weak to traitorous leadership.

We're already in it, we're just fighting it through proxy wars at the moment. The government is just fighting tooth and nail to not acknowledge that we are very much at war.
