Early Thursday morning Russia launched a full fledge military invasion on Ukraine. 40 Thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been killed. The UK, EU and other Western allies have vowed to impose tough new sanctions to punish Moscow, but say they will not send in troops.

I personally think the west will stick to sanctions, however these need to be severe enough to cause unemployment such as Volkswagen closing down its plant over in Russia, banning sales of cars and parts, restricting movement by road and rail of anything going to and from Russia.

France and the U. K. may declare war on Russia. They are already confiscating russian trade vessels in their sphere of influence, so they aren't playing games with Russia. It's going to be a full military blockade on all Russian imports and exports, like old school blockade like you haven't seen since WWII or the American Revolution.
No, we will not have WWIII over this. The US has made it clear by word and action that it will not defend Ukraine militarily, and at the same time refused to take any of Russia’s security concerns seriously, meanwhile barking at Putin to back down without giving him a way to do so without looking weak. It’s almost like we wanted Russia to invade. Perhaps it was to achieve one of Washington’s most pressing objectives: stopping the Nordstream2 pipeline. Mission accomplished.
no.. this will remain a ukraine russia conflict only. we have committed to not sending in any US or nato troops. Russia will take cities and the county... but maintaining its hold over it will bankrupt Russia and demoralize their country. It will be their own vietnam. a Quagmire
this is how i see it playing out. their economy is already taking a huge nosedive so i feel it might not be difficult for Russia to basically just run out of money to continue doing this... because it turns out waging war is fucking expensive lol.
No. Not yet anyway. Putin would have to make an aggressive (and stupid) move against a bordering/nearby NATO country (Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey) or European Union country (Finland) for that to happen. I highly doubt he'd ever do that.
Yeah 40,000 is wayyyy to large of a number that’s a big range u have there and yes WWIII will happen if Putin accidentally launches a missle and it hits Poland etc bc then america will declare war because we said we would defend every inch of nato territory

You could see China invade Taiwan , North Korea invade South Korea , then you have real trouble.

@Subarugirl Correct. The experts are thinking that China's involvement would not be military, but economically helping Russia bypass the economic sanctions. And Ukraine is too far away for North Korea to get involved.

I did not hear 40 thousand killed. I heard it was 40. But I do not think it will come to WW3 but something needs to be done about this. Putin just cannot decide to take over a sovereign nation.
No but Russia will see they were wrong an put up a small fight but last year we only got 500,000 gallons of oil from them so we will have plenty of oil
The president stated that he will not send soldiers to fight on Ukrainian soil at this time, but if Russia attacks a NATO country then we will most definitely get involved. He already dispatched troops to near by countries.
Russia will not attack a NATO country though, if only because Vladimir Putin has no reason to, and also because he understands what the consequences of doing that would be. People in the West like to demonise him, but even those who do will admit he's not a fool.
As long as NATO stays out of it and Russia doesn't invade any NATO counties. It will not become a global conflict. Unless China does something stupid and invade Taiwan also.
NO, not even close. Putin would have to go into a NATO country before that would happen. And he will NOT because he knows most of the free world would be against him.
