Would you prefer outright genocide? That's the alternative. This is an issue that should've been dealt with decades ago, but Israel kept trying to find a peaceful resolution. There might have been one, once, but that time is long gone. It does not make one "despicable" to try and make peace, nor does it to fight someone who's trying to kill them.

Now Israel's only options are: 1. demonstrate what war actually MEANS to these people, fighting them until their will to fight is completely broken, or 2. kill them all. Everything else has been tried and failed

@update: Eh. It's a war. The unfortunate reality of war is that civilians will die. If Hamas surrenders unconditionally and the Israelis are STILL bombing Gaza, THEN there's a moral issue.
