Why don’t Democrats nominate RFK or Michelle Obama or somebody more likeable than Kamala Harris?

I know they won’t nominate RFK, because they hate him.

But RFK actually is a liberal guy.

He is a big environmentalist. He does support indigenous rights and reperations for black people.

Anyway, if they wanted to cream Trump in the election, they should nominate RFK.

Even Michelle Obama would’ve been an improvement over Harris.

I don't know if Michelle Obama would ACTUALLY overwhelmingly crush Trump by like 10 points as that one poll suggested.

But at the very least, she’d perform better than Kamala Harris.

But really they are at best in the same position (still losing to Trump) or at worst, going to lose even worse.

This late in the game, the number one thing is that campaign funds can be transferred from Biden to Harris, and the nominee won’t have to fundraise from scratch with like three months and change to go. Harris can hit the ground running.

Also…. who’s more qualified to run for President than the VICE President? She’s already in the White House, working in the administration, already is involved with foreign affairs like Israel or Ukraine. Maybe someone likes another candidate better, but it’s not January. She’s ready to go.

She also has the least to lose, politically. Other prospects would have to leave their seats as governors to run, and it’s not a slam dunk, so if Trump won, they fucked themselves. Kamala is out of a job one way or another if Trump wins. I guess you could argue the same for Pete Buttigieg, but the Newsoms and Whitmers and Shapiros of the world would have a risky decision to make.

Doesn’t seem like there’s much to attack her on either. Lord knows they’re trying, lmao, now trying to attach her name to border security (fact check: she was tasked to study root causes of migration in the first place, not border security, that’s Dept Of Homeland Security business), but beyond that, all they seem to have his they don’t like her laugh, and they call her names like Heels Up Harris, suggesting she slept her way to the top, which is probably based on some innocent story of her dating someone back in the 90s or something; lmfao. State Attorney General and US Senator are ELECTED positions. She’s need to do a whoooollllllleeeeeee lotta fuckin’ to sleep her way there, lmao.

Ultimately it’s going to come down to Democratic agenda vs Republican agenda. I think Harris provides a boost to due to age and vigor, and she seems to be nailing her early speeches. But nowadays, politics seems to be so heavily tied into some people’s personalities, like without their political allegiance they’d have nothing to talk about, so some people are just wrapped up in voting one way, and the change in candidate won’t affect their vote.

Michelle Obama isn’t a politician. I don’t consider First Lady any real “political experience.” Seems like a nice lady, she’s a lawyer, I’m sure she’s very smart, but you can’t just wheel her out there because her name is Obama. I’ve never heard any real serious people mention her as a legitimate option as a candidate, nothing against her, but the discussion is usually about governors and senators.

RFK would lose too many left wingers with his anti-vaxx rhetoric. Being anti-vaxx, and believing conspiracy theories, is sort of a failure of a sanity test on that side of the aisle. And he’s another one who just hasn’t held political office before.

I don’t believe Kamala Harris is as likeable as you believe. Her polling seems to suggest that she has a low favorability rating and she isn’t exactly running away with things right now, and I don’t expect her to gain in popularity over time

Yeah, you could get a lot of people to vote RFK over Trump just on the never-Trump tip. I’m kind of astounded that, whatever anyone thinks of Biden’s performance, that Trump would even be a considered option again, even in his own party.

We don’t need to go off on a tired tangent about what Trump is or isn’t guilty of, legally or morally, but I’m shocked that there’s middle ground. I feel like he’s a “love him or hate him” kind of guy. You either see what he’s about or you don’t. You either like what he’s pushing for or you don’t. He’s a known quantity as a president, whether it’s good or bad in one’s estimation. So how anyone is sitting there undecided is mind-blowing to me. How anyone could take or leave Trump, I just don’t get that medium position. I guess it’s just moral bankruptcy and selfishness, “who will make my life the best, PERSONALLY? Fuck all the other shit.”

Anyway, point is, the Democrats need someone to energize the party. I don’t think RFK is the guy to do that, because one of the big knocks against Trump from the left is the careless handling of Covid, and someone questioning vaccine-efficacy, not just for Covid, but for other vaccines we’ve been getting for generations, is going to raise red flags.

I’d wager Democrats outnumber Republicans nationally, but it’s a matter of getting them out to the polls, Republicans are often more successful in energizing their voters, often through what I’d say are dubious means, but successful nonetheless.

I’m finding her more likable than I thought she was. I think the Democrats were foolish to hide her all this time knowing full well that Joe was old and questionable to make it to/through a second term, they should’ve been priming Kamala for this, and rolled her out sooner. Luckily for them, the Republicans can’t seem to attack her that well yet. But the Trump thing is just kind of a cult of personality, Trump people can’t be steered off of him, no matter what you present them with, they’ve been purposely conditioned to disbelief unfavorable news about him. It’ll just be a matter of how many of those people are in America. Already a scary amount for my tastes, but whatever, haha.

Trump, for all the love he gets, is equally detested by those who don’t like him. Kamala is just kind of this neutral entity we’ll find out more about in the coming weeks. I’d recommend against misogynistic or racially-based attacks, suggesting she slept her way to positions of power or calling her a “DEI hire”…. that won’t play well publicly. The whole “Border Czar” thing is being dispelled too, but again, Americans are dumb as pig shit, lmao, they don’t want facts, they want to be told their side is awesome and the other side is bad. So even if they had it in writing, people who don’t want to believe it won’t believe it. We’re kind of seeing the flaw with democracy, in that people are really fucking stupid and selfish, and vote in such a manner, so society doesn’t get the help and leadership it actually needs.

The thing about RFK is that he would win no matter which side he got nominated from. The rulers don't want him in office though. And he won't win as an independent.

Obama would be a smart move, but maybe she's not interested. Or maybe the rulers decided that this is Trump's turn to win. Especially if they're planning to the let economic bubble finally burst.
