Not for conservative extremists but otherwise yes.
I don't care for whining arguments of such like abortion is killing, or gay is bad if it ain't effecting you in any actual legit way that is not a opinion I would allow in my society. And you in fact would be locked away in a mental ward getting therapy until you can come to reason that others people's actions that don't hurt you aren't any of your problem to whine about.
The sane wouldn't like it but they wouldn't let it get that far in the first place and just choose not to talk about it, carry on their lives normally accepting these things are allowed in society.
And I would say society would get on fine even with lack of that freedom to express such views, as once again sane people would value rather just living a normal decent life than choose to worsen their life talking about an issue that don't impact them.
I prefer the term king.
I would consider everybody.
All would be happy except for any law-brakers.

Fair? Yeah
Just? No.
This is because sometimes equitable justice is not the right solution to a problem. For instance, if you get cancer, you don't just treat it and contain it. You kill it. The cancerous cells and tumors may not like it, but your life is at stake. It's your life or theirs. So, sometimes the draconian solution is the only solution.
Here's an example from cinema. In "The Godfather: Part II", when Vito Andolini (who will become "The Godfather", Don Vito Corleone) is a boy back in Corleone, Italy, we learn that the local don, Don Francesco Ciccio, had killed Vito's father and Vito's older brother who sought revenge for their father's death. Vito's mother pleads with Don Ciccio to spare Vito who, the mother says, is a dim-witted, harmless weak boy. Don Ciccio says "No!" because he believes the boy WILL seek revenge when he grows-up. The mother, desperate, tries to save Vito by taking a knife to the Don's throat while Vito escapes. But, the Don's henchmen shoot and kill the mother then go after Vito who successfully escapes and flees to America.
Years later, Vito has grown-up and comes back to Corleone. And we quickly learn that Don Ciccio was right all along because Vito gets his revenge and kills the Don just as the Don predicted when Vito was a boy. All because Don Ciccio was not successful in having Vito killed when he was a boy.
Bottom line:
Don Ciccio wanted Vito killed.
Had Vito been killed, would that have been just? Nope because Vito, the boy, had done nothing to Don Ciccio to warrant a death sentence from the Don. Vito's death would have been unjust.
Had Vito been killed, would that have been justified? Yep. And it was prophetic because Vito DID grow-up and get his vengeance just as Don Ciccio predicted years earlier.
Sometimes as a leader, you have to make draconian and "unjust" decisions like this because it is a matter of survival. Maybe the leader's, but perhaps also the leader's people and culture.
No, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I would not be a good dictator, just as everyone else wouldn’t be a good dictator. Dictators don’t give up their power willingly also dictators pass their power onto someone who is either worse or slightly better.
Dictators take advantage of people’s fear and distrust to harness their anger as their own strife to commit whatever the solution in their eyes is… People follow like rats to cheese. I would not be a dictator, if I were given power I’d rather be a President for the people by the people!
you beat me to it, RE absolute power but let me repeat your thought: There is no 'good' dictator.
@juliaanita Correct, there is no good dictator. Not one on Earth.
@juliaanita

(Just wanted to say that)
It's delusional to think there isn't a single incorruptible person on the planet.
Just because out of the few dictators that we know, none of them were good does not mean the whole planet would be bad candidates.
There are people in the world that represent the views of the majority and would happily sacrifice themselves for the people or the good of humanity.
It just so happens that the majority of those good people don't want to be in positions of power and thus never seek it out.
@HawkPerception What makes someone a dictator? The people they have to please….
Corporate funded coups if you don’t do the wealthy’s bidding, it is off with your head. Imagine if those that control the gas, food, and other extremities were to gouge prices against the will of the dictator to overthrow them also your closest advisors don’t feel like you’ve helped them too much…. There goes the dictator then it is replaced with a worse ‘yes man’, stay in line or else.
With me, I believe checks & balances keep leaders from getting too corrupted with greed, profits, helping out friends, etc.
:) :)
Yes... I believe I could be. It entirely depends under which circumstances I become a Dictator though.
The 'stereotype' method of seizing power; I don't know about that one. Money, Power, Influence corrupts. There will always be opposition to your rule, and thus you'll have to oppress people; the more revolts, and people turn against you, the more paranoid you'll become which leads to further oppression and atrocities. I don't think I would do well then...
However... If it's through 'Democracy'; as happened during Roman Times: Then yes, no doubt I would be a fair 'Dictator'
During Roman times, when there was a Crisis, a Magistrate or Consul could be appointed 'Dictator' for a limited amount of time; often until the crisis had passed. When Hannibal was coming down the Alps, Rome was in turmoil. Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus was a Consul, but the Senate appointed him 'Dictator' in 221 and 217BC.
I have to add.
Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus is being remembered as an excellent General. He preserved the Roman Legions by not attacking Hannibal directly, but his weak spots, rear and supply lines. This is called the 'Fabian Strategy'
When unleashed, I have a tendency to be a ruthless dictator.
I'm trying to run my self-declared business empire and can't afford slackers.
However, many of my employees tell me that sometimes being referred to as "the dragon lady" is actually a good thing.
It's funny that my badass-looking husband reminds me that it'd be a shame to waste all the kindness & generosity I bestowed on many people & communities if I always deal in mafioso-like methods.
Oh shit. If I was a dictator, no one is safe. Fair my left toe. Everyone is in trouble. You breath incorrectly,

Power equals corruption and I unfortunately am not immune to it. Besides, even if I wanna say I was being fair, some people won’t feel that way no matter what. Not everyone is going to be happy.
I think I'd try to be but everybody is influenced by their own biases so I think it would be tricky to not make rash decisions over time. In my country I don't think we need any big changes so it would be a bad decision in my opinion to install a dictator :)
Yes.
I have very strong principles and do what's best for others. That's been true for me in both my personal life and my work when I am managing others
I would not let corrupt people try to bend me to their will.
That’s contradictory. Dictators want power and control. There’s no such thing as a fair and just dictator.
Hmm I'd beg to differ. I think we've just had bad dictators. I think there are people in countries that share the same opinion of the majority of the citizens and who would prioritize the people over even themselves. Incorruptible people that would not give in to the pressures of politics. The issue with leaders is all the good people don't want to lead.
Yes in terms of fairness. But i’d suck at debates. In general, i dont want to end up assassinated so i’ll pass
No. There’s no such thing. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I would be a good dictator unless the opposite was required to remain in power.
I think you mean leader, not dictator, which is an entirely different thing on its own.
Yes, but only after I punished the people that I thought deserved it.
A dictator, by implication, cannot be fair, impartial and just.
No. Humanity is bloody lucky I never came to that kind of power.
I guess. I can't even scold a dog, so I doubt I'd have the heart to commit atrocities.
Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus would be my guide
Dictators are never fair and just.
No. I'm human.
I'd be fair, but I wouldn't be competent.
Yes, I would be tough but fair.
Yes!! Socialism for everyone!!
It would be for the good of the people not me...
Depends lol
