Why isn't CashApp banned?

The only thing it seems to be used for is facilitating criminal transactions and other criminal activities.

About a year and a half ago, i was living with a certain roommate, and he somehow managed to steal my debit card information, even though I literally never take it out of my wallet and always keep my wallet in my pocket tattooed to my ass. Anyway, he loaded my debit card onto his CashApp account and stole roughly $612 by the time I figured out what was happening. So I called the police and reported it and had to close my bank account and open another one. Fortunately, the bank refunded my money because their own records had HIS NAME stealing all of my money all of a sudden, so they were at fault too, because they should have stopped it the very first time it happened.

I've had other people try to rip me off with third party money programs. I will NEVER under any circumstances use a third party bank or third party vendor to transfer money to someone. Also, BitCoin ripped me off one time and I lost over $14,000 in about one second flat. I tried to get a lawyer to sue BitCoin and Apple, since it was an Apple trading app, and I couldn't find a lawyer to take the case, so I was just out the $14,000 apparently.

You should NEVER buy Bitcoin or any other Crypto Currency, and you sure as HELL should NEVER use a third party bank or online bank, including Paypal, for ANY reason whatsoever. They literally exist only to steal your money or help someone else steal your money.

It sounds like your money got stolen because your roommate was an asshole. And I imagine you had something hooked up to bitcoin because they never would have been able to make that purchase without your consent, assuming you had a wallet separate from the trading app that you were storing your bitcoin info in. I agree, people can be careless just leaving their cards hooked up to these apps but apps like venmo are how I pay my rent so it’s annoying to put my card back on there every month but it’s what you gotta do sometimes. Third party wallets are totally safe, provided you know how to use them safely and understand the risks. More people should be educated to prevent crimes like what happened to you.

I never heard of it until now.

I try to use cash as much as possible, although I do have a couple of credit cards for convenience. One is a cash back Costco card that we use for gas and some groceries, and sometimes restaurants. We pay that off every month. The other is a credit card with a 1% interest rate that I use for on-line purchases. Both of those cards cover fraud.
I also have an ATM card for depositing money in the bank, but I never use it for purchases.

I have a few major monthly bills set of for automatic withdrawal from the bank but I pay a lot of my recurring bills with checks.

I don't like doing business electronically and would never mess with crypto.

Sounds like a sketchy roommate problem more than cashapp. I don’t use those and don’t really understand the point, but I don’t a reason to ban it.

And did Bitcoin rip you off, or did it just tank? Crypto is very volatile, that’s never been a secret. I haven’t put in the time to learn the tricks to them but I know a lot of people that have made a lot of money off it

Yes. If they were a credible banking institution, they should not have taken money off my card to put into his account with a totally different name on it.
