Good question. Maybe it would be better? But not sure. Gore was the one who spearheaded the whole green movement and eco-friendly stuff, which was not entirely bad but it's because of him that a lot of public restrooms stopped having paper towels and only wanted to use hand driers which I find to be much more gross and unsanitary, and him that influenced people to put pressure on eco-friendly this and that like paper straws which I really hate.
And while I am no supporter of W. Bush by any means, I don't think Gore would've been very strong with international affairs. 9/11 probably wouldn't have happened if he was in office though.
Interesting! TY
I think Ralph Nader was correct that there wasn't any real difference between Gore and Bush, who truly was less than zero as a President but who pretty much governed as a leftist. Maybe Gore would have abused executive orders in support of his extreme agenda and maybe he wouldn't have fought a second war in Iraq (not so sure because a lot of very powerful people benefited from that war).
It's pretty hilarious to see the usual deluded leftist suspects try to claim 9/11 wouldn't have happened. As if Gore would have prevented that.
Gore wouldn't have prevented it. I agree. I wonder if the Dems would have become more corporate tho
I'm a Republican but I will give "probable credit" (to Al Gore) where credit is due (to Bill Clinton).
Gore wouldn't have blundered the billion US$ surplus his predecessor (Clinton) amassed for our then-proud & then-flourishing economy.
Forgot about that. You're right!

How and why?
Well, for a start 9/11 might have been prevented. If it had still happened, there would have been no diversion into Iraq leading to destabilisation of the region. Global warming would have been taken seriously earlier, Senate permitting. I suppose Obama might not have been president; Romney or McCain for a term or two instead. On the plus side of that, perhaps the right wouldn't have lost their minds and elected Trump.
Great answer! Love the unbiased speculation
good question, or even... Ross Perot! Ross Perot, that I'd like to have seen. I supported Al back then as well... over Bush.
I think a bunch of people would be alive that ended up dying from all that and oil policy would have been different.
Probably have the same housing bubble and burst.
who knows...
I can't think of any difference it would make really. I mean is there any evidence that he would somehow singlehandedly slow down the decline of the empire? Different wars and massive debt would be the state of things.
Maybe. You might have something there
We would be more impoverished and probably distrusting of goverment if that is possible.
As Al Gore would have used the 9/11 attack for his own environmental agenda with new regulations. Which would have only undermined the credibility of goverment and it's leaders to address any problem.
No way. Why poor and suspicious?
How would 9/11 lead to green policies?
@drpepper12 Al gore is obsessed with his environmental agenda and would have used the attacks to push it, probably trying to make the case the environmental distress helped contribute to the condition, or claiming that addiction to oil fueled the attacks.
So he would have pushed laws which would have made living and working in America far more expensive due to higher energy cost. Ultimately making us more impoverished.
The fact that it was really just taking advantage of the situation to push his agenda rather than addressing the problem would have made much of the population more suspicious and distrusting of goverment than they already were by this time, and far more than today.
As 9/11 and the response to it was a unifying event even with the conservancies. but said conspiracies wold have been more widely accepted in light of how it was used to push an unrelated agenda. More disillusionment because it wasn't used to actuary defend the country such as was the propose of said goverment.
I can't believe that you're proposing you would choose green policies over national security or as a cover. That's Q level shit.
@drpepper12 I wouldn't however I believe very much that democrats like Al Gore would, Obama/Biden even went so far as to tell the military to rate it as a threat and push military technology in that direction even thou it compromises technical capabilities.
The JC came to that conclusion all on its own. JFC the lies!!
@drpepper12 I don't know who JFC is, but in general as a sad reality of the nature of elections in that lies tend to pay off in winning you the vote, which is why politicians are such practiced liers.
The reason is quite simple, there is always new issues to run on and a new face to repeat the same old lies with.
JFC = Jesus Fuckin Christ
@drpepper12
Try to control your language and not use Jesus's name in vane on this form.

Over the long term, it really doesn't matter which party wins a specific election. The country continues to grow.
The poll doesn't have the best option... nothing would be significantly different.
The pendulum would have swung back as it will this year.
We would all be speaking chinese.
How so?
I wasn't an Al "Bubba" Gore fan, but he HAD to be better and not as light-brained as Dummy Bush.
I don't think much would have changed.
How come?
