Which decade do you think was the best to grow up in and why?

I'm torn between 80s and 2010's. I wonder how it feels like waiting for new MTV videos, movies, and dancing to love songs that time. People were much simple also.
But 2010s, where I grew was the start of the internet, also had great music and artists (Daft Punk, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, etc.) 🤯 and I also loved the emo phase. 😄🥹
I just wonder sometimes if we'll figure out the right balance between tech and real human relationships. But yeah the way that people waited for music videos, how the culture was all tuned into the same wavelength. It's partly why I'm such a huge fan of the 80's. There's actually a lot of newer music, YouTube channels like NewRetroWave all based on 80 vibe but modern production. Songs like '85 Again - Robert Parker. I'm huge into 80's nostalgia if you can't tell. 💕
I would think 90s-early 00s.
I am glad I got to touch grass before technology took over. 😂
Thank you for the MHO. 💜
Maybe the 70s. I'd say the U. S. was amazing from the later 50s through the 80s.
Companies provided service. Shops and department stores were amazing. Entertainment was affordable. Nothing was digitized. And there was this thing called freedom.
Obviously the 80s. Don't fuck with Gen X!! I mean come on, our parents needed a reminder to figure out where we were at 10:00 at night!!

Anything after the 1950s and before to the early 80s those were the best parents with good old traditional fashion believes good upbringing Nice pure fun things to do and more activities were done instead of everybody staying at home always playing on the computer
Remembering how much fun it was for me as a teen during the '80s, that's my 1st choice.
80's and 90's. Because we came out of the recessions and fuel shortages of the 70's. We had Ronnie Raygun as president. The collapse of the Soviet Union the fall of the Berlin Wall. As well as economic boom that led to vast economic growth for two decades. Add to this we all got to bear witness to the greatest basketball player of all time. Which culminated in the rise of the internet towards the end of the millennium.
the 1960s. JFK, the moon landing , Woodstock. muscle cars. It was crazy but it must have been awesome.
1980’s definitely. Awesome tv shows, movies, cars and toys 👍🙂
The `60's and early `70's.
We had the best t. v. shows, movies and especially music and it was the single most creative era in the history of the planet.
I have now entered my seventh decade - and it looks allright to me.
I may grow up soon :)
Why... because I still remember the follies of my youth.
I've only experienced one... and I'm okay with it, not to far back, and not so out there either... lol
The 60’s to the 80’s they had more of a personal connection with each other
I agree, but due to technology it can never happen. Today almost everything we do is based on cellular signal. It will be even worst in 25 years from now. Unless nuclear war happens and we are forced to rebuild, but will the new generation achieve the goal.
Sadly I think you're right. You know, it brings to mind several interviews of Ray Kurzweil I've heard over the years if you know who he is. He believes technology is a profoundly good thing and that we will eventually merge with it, despite all the data that people are more disconnected and unhappy.
70s or 80s would have been pretty awesome. Mostly modern technology, but society was just starting to get insane.
When I was a 60's lad, folk generally believed in helping the needy and oppressed, not further degrading them as today.
Most people are going to answr with the decade they grew up in.
hat inspired the question is over the last few months, I have come across hundreds of comments of people saying they wished they had grown up in a different decade, as well as a lamenting how terrible things are today. It just really surprised me to hear young people today wishing they'd grown up in the 80's.
@Goahead76 Based on the answers below that doesn't seem true
@Goahead76 If you read the responses to your question most people pick decades where they were in their teens and early 20's.
@Goahead76 As you should. The answer is that people typically think positively about their youth.
@Goahead76 Yep, TY for agreeing.
So I have a theory that technology or the time that we spend staring at screens creates empty voids in our memory. For example, you may have positive memories of a movie you watched or maybe a video game, but if you think back to all the time you spent on a computer or your phone it's just empty, there was nothing to remember. So I often wonder if kids who were raised with a lot of screen time just don't have as many memories. Often, you will hear people say they're glad they didn't have constant screens growing up, a distinct difference between then and now.
@Goahead76 Could be.
Late 90s - early 00s. The transition between technology and playing outside. Best of both worlds.
The 1960's and the 1970's equally
The early 90s to the early 2000s
