I would say 20% maybe if you are measuring the likes of bezos, musk, Gates, Zuckerberg. The rest is determination, hard work, education, motivation and genetics. For instance I would bet Bezos would have made it even without that 500k loan.

To be a top musician you have to have talent to start out with.

If it's 90% like you say then how come so many that have every opposite to succeed fail so hard or at best just coast through. Of course if you are coming from a wealthy background you don't have to succeed as you will be looked after with trustfunds and employment opportunities that you aren't the best candidate for and haven't earned.

Why are you pissing in people’s cornflakes? People work to help their family and themselves. Then they want their kids to do even better and they help them. Some of those kids flame out and waste the money. Others take it even further which is great for their family and for the country.

But you don’t like that I would guess because somehow that is not fair? Yes it is. No one gave me anything except a decent education and a work ethic. I am though giving my kids a small boost. And if they have kids, perhaps they will give a boost. You know what I don’t like? The sh! thead who did nothing asking for a free ride. They are asking the politicians to take it from others. Mostly their lack of a decent education is due to their parents. Crappy father, corrupt politicians and school board they voted for, crappy neighborhood they moved to, crappy neighborhood kids. That’s on the parents.

Even still many who grow up in bad situations rise in this country and others that end up coming here and making it. Then they also will build a better future for their kids. My grandmother was very clear with me, the world needs ditch diggers if you want to volunteer. Great advice, motivational. JD Vance overcame as well and he is doing great… he served, he made serious money, he branched out into writing, and now in politics. He is a good example.

I would be for more parental freedom and for better public education. To do the latter requires a massive crack down on fraud in the public schools where administrators steal public money for the schools. Hilariously Oprah gave $500,000 to a school principal to fix the roof of his school as he said the government would not (which it probably did many times). Then he stole Oprah’s money too!

Parents need to crack down in school boards like they do in affluent neighborhoods. They are need to keep non-learning nonsense out of the schools, political nonsense and all the gender craziness. Focus on the three R’s.

It is always going to be like that. I dated a girl who came from a very affluent family. All her friends were rich kids as well. They all drove around in nice cars while i had a chevy hatchback, They al went to nice private colleges and got to live on campus. I went to a crappy commuter school and had to work a crappy part time job to help pay tuition. Even with the job i finally had to drop out because I fell behind on paying tuition. They all went on nice vacations and had sailboats and jet skis.
All those kids ended up with better jobs and i suspect lived nicer lives. That is just the way it is.

yes. we scraped by in the richest part of town just so my father could feel special. he never gave his kids much. after 3 kids, his obligations were all to himself. but that was the easy money mentality of my parents generation. they weren't and still aren't that smart either
