lol how the UK. WW1, Russian Revolution, Spanish Civil war, WW2, Korean War, IndoChina, Vietnam, Balkans wars (Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo), Unification of Germany, etc
I am fairly sure those were started by and involved a bunch of other countries.
Spanish civil war has small modern relevancy outside Spain (UK supplied the opposition to Franco prolonging the war).
The UK wanted a war with Germany in 1914, the disastrous Franco Prussian war was still a fresh wound, or was the entirety for the sovereignty of Belgium (not to mention the triple entente where they knew Russia was backing Serbia which guaranteed conflict, Germany was not the aggressor or cause and the UK made them pay massive concessions largely spurring the environment that created Nazi Germany and ww2).
The aftermath of WW1 saw Britain entirely dismantle the Ottoman empire setting all the precedent for today's middle east (including Israel) all because Britain wanted to control the Suez Canal (which they failed at and started international political conflicts over).
WW2 Britain declared war on Germany to save Poland (not the USSR who invaded simultaneously). They "won the war" by going entirely bankrupt to the USA, Keynes had witnessed the collapse of an empire before his eyes. They also then handed Poland over to the invaders (USSR) and half of Germany.
Britain didn't save Poland, and their concessions largely created the cold war as the balance of power shifted. All they achieved was removing several leaders of sovereign nations at the expense of their own wealth.
Russian revolution has large consequences but smaller than Britain, Russia has also a long separate history from that of most mainland Europe.
Balkan wars effect Balkan territories mostly at this point.
Vietnam is an isolated separate political failure that cannot compare to WW1 and 2.
Wow you do not really know much 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Okay WWW 1 was a complete mess, however Germany did start it, but they were pretty much pushed into it by AustroHungary.
The UK did not go to war to save Poland, there was zero chance France or the UK could invade Germany, defeat all the Germany forces and reach Poland.
The Russian Revolution started the ball rolling on what would become the Cold War, there was zero single most influential event in modern history, the UK also never handed over Poland, there was this thing with that Russian Revolution and communism, a bloke called Stalin and a really big army, said he was keeping, Poland, half of Germany, most of Balkans, the Baltic states. The option was to let him or continue a war with Russia, all the while Japan was still going on.
The Balkans has a large effect on Europe and the EU, it is also a potential war with Serbia which is bubbling away.
The Vietnam war did have a big impact as did the Korean. Now let’s move to First Gulf war, exactly how were the UK to blame? Then Afghanistan…..
Just because you are not too clever and the typical trolling blue anon, I will leave it there as it’s pointless discussing intelligent stuff with someone who is blatantly not,
In the west? America USA
For the west? China
Future concern? The BRICs
At present the USA is.
At present yes, I more so meant the last 150 or so years leading to today's current climate
Our fiddling began with Vietnam. The Gulf Of Tonkin incident was fraudulent.
Dissolving the Ottoman empire to create the modern system that is the middle east, creating Israel, coups in Iran (for oil) spurring extremism, allying with the USSR in WW2 (who also invaded Poland), their lasting effects by the colonialism of India among other places, and a lot of other things can be labeled against Britain as fraudulent.
