Honestly, which country do you think is the main reason why we can't have peace in the Middle East?

Is the Middle East's instability a trap? If you have resources but no "big" friends, you're in trouble. Also, religion seems to be the biggest barrier between people who are literally from the same roots. If they were more developed and, dare I say, atheist - would the world leave them alone, What do you think?

There is only one: Israel. It is pure evil.
There was no terrorism in the region before Eastern European Zionist gangs initiated terrorist tactics. There was no hostility between Muslims, Christians and Jews.

Beirut, Lebanon was called the Paris of the Middle East. And the landscapes were gorgeous.

Palestine was beautiful, peaceful and bucolic with thriving agriculture, world renown cotton and produce, modern cities, fishing fleets, beaches, and Christian, Muslim and Jewish places of worship and holy sites.
Palestinians even welcomed and assisted Jewish refugees from Europe initially.

Syria was a popular tourist destination with its own modern cities, beaches, beautiful landscapes, historic sites, and Christian, Muslim and Jewish places of worship and holy sites.

All the countries in the region were popular with tourists.

The Zionists declared an independent, racist, theocratic, belligerent state in 1948, went to war with its neighbors and started stealing land. It has been at it for 78 years.

Israel has bombed it neighbors, engaged in ongoing genocide against the people who lived in Palestine, and instigated regime change, all with the goal of a "Greater Israel" called the Yinon plan that intends to stretch from the Nile to the Euphrates, across half of Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and include all the land westward to the Mediterranean.

And, while causing incalculable destruction and millions of lives, it portrays itself as a victim of antisemitism.

The solution is the dissolution of Israel and creation of a democratic state of Palestine, just as the apartheid South African regime was dissolved. Let Muslims, Christians and "real" Jews (not Zionists) once again live in harmony as friends and neighbors as they do in Iran and and Lebanon and as they once did in Syria before Israel and the west installed a head-chopping head of alQaida in power.

Yeah, I have to agree. Three religions that all come from the same roots, all three batshit crazy, are the major problem in that useless pile of sand. Their religious problems are a convenient lever for others to exploit because they also happen to be sitting on massive energy wealth below the sand pile in the form of oil and gas.

And this is the problem with all phony religions. They start with a set of answers and proclaim those answers to be the word of some magic invisible sky fairy. They are basically screwed from day one. Once you have proclaimed your beliefs to based on the literal word of some magic invisible sky fairy who is eternal and all knowing, it's sorta hard to change direction admit your religion is built on the bullshit beliefs of primitive nomads sitting around a camel dung fire in the middle of a desert.

Then along come some other people people who see the trap you built for yourself as something they can exploit to take what you have. Leaving you with nothing but your worthless bullshit beliefs.

Countries aren't the problem, people are. No matter what you propose, how many bombs you drop, or whatever peace deal is signed, there'll always be a faction that isn't happy and continues the violence. Then everything escalates again. You've got to change the mindset before you change the politics.

i don't think any one middle eastern country is the reason. i think it's the leaders of those countries and the leaders of countries outside the middle east who seem bent on the never ending geo-political meddling.

All of the above, but especially Israel. Take Israel out of the picture and it will revert back to a smoldering dislike of each other's religious variants, cultures and people that will occasionally break out into skirmishes.

That said, Israel is functioning as the US and Britain intended it to function; to be a lightning rod for all the hate in the region. Think about it. While it appears that Israel owns the US because it has bought off the powerful people in Congress, it's paying for it with money the US gave them. Another long term grift.

The USA was conveniently set up so it didn't have to be involved "overtly" with the workings of the Middle East. It was set up to let Israel take ALL the heat. But then Cheney/Bush screwed that up, and now Trump is doing it again. Giving Israel billions of dollars and keeping US boots off the ground was idea, but now the Orange Child is going to sacrifice US soldiers so he can make more money, all in the name of "freeing the Iranian people" and oh yes, the nuclear enrichment that his own failed actions help initiate.

This was where civilization started and we ceased being hunters and gatherers. Empires first rised here.

The problem is the middle east has never got out of the Age of Empires and mostly they are still in a land is power civilization.

For most of the west the mind is the major resource. Physical land while not unimportant is no so important. Japan for example has no physical resources but does fine.

The ME is not there so getting and holding resources is more important.

It's a problem that has been going on since thousands of years, since the inception of the three monotheist religions: Jewish, Christian and Muslim. Add to that internal divisions within these three religions and you have a cultural and religious melting pot that can ignite with apparently no reason.

To blame one country is failing to see the complexity of the situation.

The settlement of Israël is a destablizing factor in the region, but not Israël's fault. It's ultimately down to the British interference in the last century, well before Israël became a reality. And no, I'm not defending Israël.

The Middle East is primarily Muslim. So, a nation that has nuclear capabilities and U. S. backing that is antagonistic to them was a recipe for friction. Before World War I, the Middle East was relatively peaceful as the Ottoman Empire.
