I have a summer place on an island. My family has a house on the same island and I really grew up there. Every time I go there I think about all the people I knew and all the stuff that I did.

Spiced peaches. I can't find them in the store anymore, so I have to make my own. Spiced peaches make me think of my grandmother and I wish I could talk to her sometimes. She was my shoulder to cry on and the one who always listened and loved me no matter what. And she always smelled so good! My brother and I both feel like it was such an honor to be her grandchild. We always talk about her and it often brings tears to our eyes. There's a picture of the two of them at his wedding that also makes me nostalgic. They are looking at each other and she has her hand through his arm. That picture is the embodiment of pure love. We were so lucky to have her in our lives!

Whenever it's cloudy outside on a cold autumn morning (sometime between 6am-9am), and it smells like rain from a shower earlier in the middle of the night. It's a very specific scenario that always causes an intense wave of nostalgia to go over me.

Certain smells bring back a lot of childhood memories. Forest rains being a pretty big trigger of quality childhood memories which is sorta ironic since I grew up in the city and only went to my grandparents farm during holidays.
