How would you summarize the conservative right vs the progressive left?

The conservative right:

The hardworking patriots who value faith, family, and tradition. They believe in smaller government and American-first policies. They stand firm in supporting uniformed heroes, including military, law enforcement, fire and EMS. They value law and order, safety, and the freedom to defend oneself and property against harm. They often uphold Judeo-Christian values. Modesty and discipline is important.

The progressive left:

More reliant on government with more social/welfare programs. Distribution of wealth. Activism and causes tend to be based on identity politics and tend to emphasize on identity groups. The straight, white, Christian man is the least concern, as most of the social issues tend to be more supportive of "people of color" (non-white), LGBTQRST... (sexualities and genders other than straight), and liberal feminism (not male). They tend to use the race card and assume racism/_phobia when raising concerns against their policies. They believe Americans should assume the burdens of illegal aliens and even pay for their healthcare, daily essentials, lodging, and abortions. They support experimental hormone therapies and genital alteration surgeries for minors and claim this is "gender affirming care".

The progressive leftists of today don't know how to live and let live. They are so certain in their beliefs that they advocate using force to achieve them - violence, vandalism, oppressive government laws. They are like child tyrants.

They are angry, petulant, and easily manipulated to believe stuff that makes no sense.

They don't just want to change America for the better, which I support. They don't love America at all. They disdain the unique foundations on which this country was built -the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Their idea of liberty is running amok with impunity.

Like adolescents, they think they are evolved and everyone else is stupid. They have no respect for anyone's values but their own.

They don't know the meaning of hard work, sacrifice or self reliance. They expect mommy (the Nanny State) to take care of them and give them whatever they want.

I'm not crazy about the conservative right, either, with their laisses faire attitude toward corporations and wealth accumulation, enforcement of morality, "Christian values", and their desire to control women's lives.

Both sides support controlling people's lives through social engineering, censorship, propaganda, 24/7 monitoring, intimidation, and domination.

One concern I have regarding the conservative right is the lack of concern and funding for emergency services, especially here in my state. Law enforcement gets taken care of very well (which they should), but Fire and EMS are often neglected. Counties often use EMS services to boost their general fund. Fire departments are often neglected altogether.

The main difference between liberal and conservative politics is the role if government. Liberals want large government that takes care of the people, because the people aren't capable of taking care of themselves. Conservatives want smaller government that let's people take care of themselves.

Almost by definition, every conservative position is just an old progressive one. Nothing new ever happens from the conservatives, they do not progress the nation in any way or protect it from any new threat. They are the physical manifestation of inertia. They exist to be dragged towards the future, kicking and screaming like the little children they are.

How do you define "progressing the nation"? Attacking our first amendment by censorship and suppressing "offensive" speech? Colluding with big tech to ensure the control of information? A two tiered justice system that works against conservatives? Throwing a big "FU" to modesty where anyone just screws anyone they want with abortions provided at the taxpayers expense? Funding other countries and illegal aliens when we cannot even support our own vulnerable populations? Hood rats and homeless infiltrating tidy upper middle class communities? Selective social programs that benefit those of certain races and ethnicities? Critical race theory?

If that is your definition of "progression", you are a loss cause.

Freedom of speech, abolishing slavery, human rights. Name something you think is good and that has probably been put into place by progressives at some point, notably when they were being opposed by conservatives of their time.

Strictly speaking conservatives do not actually have an ideology. They are trying to "conserve" something, and that something could be anything. By contrast progressives actually have an ideology. They stand for specific things. To avoid making things too complicated, they stand for making the world a better place by for example improving human rights, the society and technology.

Funny you mention technology. I am a software engineer that is highly skilled. Being a conservative in my profession is almost an anomaly. I do believe in technology and human rights. I don't, however, believe in the mentality that it is all "whitey's" fault. I don't believe in affirmative action or reverse racism. Let me tell you, I was on disability for a while. It is definitely not all what it is cracked up to be. Many are lucky to receive a thousand bucks a month. You are highly restricted on what additional income you can receive. You are penalized often, even for overpayments that aren't your fault. It takes often over a year to be accepted, and it isn't as easy getting off. You cannot even afford an apartment, because most complexes require an income of 3x the rent. You cannot raise a family on that income. You are squeezed thin, yet billions are being handed out to illegals and other countries all the time. The leftist government spends while you struggle to get by.

Generally speaking, the people with the power to change the world are the ones responsible for how the world is currently structured. Historically speaking, those people have recently been white. Logic dictates therefore that white people are primarily to blame for how the world is currently malfunctioning. This is not rocket science, you can do it and I believe in you.

Things like affirmative action is not even a social policy, its an economic one. Because of historical and social reasons you have a subset of the population that is under-performing. In other words, they could be doing better if given the chance which means the US economy could be doing better since its just a product of the work that everyone is doing.

So lets say you are the government and you want to invest 5 million dollars into growing your economy. Who would you give that money to? Giving that money to billionaires means absolutely jack shit. That would basically be a rounding error for them and not grow the economy at all. Giving it to the middle class would have some effect. Giving it to the lower class will have a fairly good economic stimulation but do you know what the best one would be? To give it specifically to people who has been discriminated against.. like minority groups in USA.

As such while you can make a moral argument for it, the absolutely strongest argument is purely economical.

Also let me give you a tip. The aid for minority groups are even more of a shitty system than that for disabled people. It amazes me that you think they are any different when already experienced one of them.

The old stereotype is that democrats are for the people and the Republicans are for the rich. It isn't that case anymore. The elitists and celebrities now cling to the left to aggressively push their policies. Yet, they live the high life while you pinch pennies.

I am just telling you man, I have not been any better under this current administration. In fact, I have been more at a disadvantage. Everything is expensive, from food to gas to rent. I am nearing 30 years old, newly engaged, and have prospects of starting a family ine day. Homeownership is far from attainable at this point. I may get ahead 2 notches and get knocked back 5. We often hear the government spend millions and billions like it was nothing. For us, we are one emergency away from bankruptcy and loss of stability.

USA has had among the lowest rates of inflation in the entire world, and notably the inflation in USA has been mostly driven by corproate greed which has nothing to do with the government aside from the government not prosecuting them but that is a wildly leftwing idea.

Point is that inflation would not have been better under any other government (such as Trump) unless they channeled their inner Karl Marx.

And yes, for the government it is nothing to spend millions or billions of dollars. USA is the current super power, you need to understand what that means in terms of scale. Fixing a single bridge can cost billions of dollars and USA, last time I checked, had around 50 000 of those that are dangerously in need of repairs. Just fixing those (otherwise people will die) would cost trillions upon trillions of dollars. And I bet that you have not noticed any broken bridges nor would you really feel it if the government spent that ungodly sum of money to repair them. Yet it is necessary or USA would basically collapse as the infrastructure crumbles.

And that is just bridges. There are countless different areas where the government has to spend countless billions of dollars. So yes. The government spends millions and billions of dollars as if they are nothing.. because from their scale of operations, it literally is.

That sounds eerily like both parties to me. I would like to see conservatives do more. I don't always like saying Republican because I am not loyal to a party just because they are a party. I look for whichever politicians supports conservative values and vote for that. In most cases, it has been the Republican party.

Democrats have progressed to a party of rabid, loud, aggressive militants while Republicans cannot seem to solidify strength as much.

All I can say is under this administration, I have seen a deterioration of my community, greed, selfishness, employment stability, deterioration of mental and physical health, increase in crime, moral decline, and tighter personal/family budgets.
