Corporate Greed is a massive issue in this country.

Bring “prices down” immediately, but the only proposal he has for the economy is to increase tariffs on all the goods coming into the country. This would actually raise prices on nearly everything that consumers purchase

There is a plethora of historical examples that prove that tariffs only drive prices higher for local population. Think about it for a second, how many articles of clothing, toys, electronic devices, and other items that you buy on the daily, monthly, yearly, etc. come from China. Now imagine once the import price is hiked, how much you’ll be paying / the quantity that you’ll receive of said item? Guess what, the quantity shrinks and the price gouges making it so you pay more for less.  I’m a former Trump supporter and I got off the bandwagon for a long damn time, this is one of the worst policy ideas he has ever thought up. The good policy decisions were already fulfilled by The Democratic Party from Veteran Benefits under Pact Act to Manufacturing Jobs under Chips And Science Act to Fixing Our Crumbling Infrastructure under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.  It Was Biden/Harris Who Got It Done! The list goes on. Kamala Harris is going to make a better President than Joe Biden and Donald Trump since she has potential, Trump already had the job and failed it. This time around it will be worse… Vote Kamala Harris & Tim Walz, I don’t like this country being fooled like a bunch of suckers!

I'm taking the candidate that is NOT going to use price controls because it is a supply chain issue. Inflation is rampant due to government overspending and overprinting money. Not to mention due to the rising cost of oil (lack of supply), getting more supply to the stores will cost more and raise prices, on top of the supply costing more, too. The US needs to start drilling again and to stop funding these wars so that we might recover again.

Even if Kamala is right about it being those durn greedy corpos, corporations are members of the state (If you don't believe me, take a look at how the IRS defines them). If the state really wanted to crack down on them, they would have done so a long time ago, but they won't and will continue to refuse to do so so long as those who keep solidifying the bond between corporation and state are in power (Mussolini defines these people as fascists by the way).

Trump is already a billionaire, him taking the role of the president is a massive downgrade in pay for him, in fact. You can't simply bribe your way through him, at least not like your average politician.

The idea is that tariffs will prompt the creation of more businesses in the country, lessening the need for imports in the first place. It's proof positive (as if any more were needed) that Trump isn't a politician at heart; he's actually thinking more than four years ahead.

What crippled our economy was the prolonged stop on the creation of wealth, coupled with the vast increase in the amount of money. That in turn came from the decision to let the States set their own Covid policies, which you CAN blame Trump for, but it's... exactly what the Constitution says the President has to do. And since Biden encouraged them to stay locked down LONGER, and only one state has voted its Covid governor out...

The idea that prompting in-country production is going to "destroy the economy" suggests you shouldn't've slept through economics class.

Corporate profit percentages are within the same historical averages from recent decades, so I don't think there is much juice left to squeeze there. Grocery store profit margins are less than two percent, so there's literally nothing to get from that specific angle. When people references record high profits, they're referring to dollar figures, which obviously will continue to set records. Because that's how inflation works. Percentages are the relevant factor.

Government spending and taxes needed to be pushed down to make things cheaper, and to incentivize economic growth. I haven't seen anything from either side that indicates they would do this though. Republicans just want to grow the government slightly more slowly than democrats.

Trump has a real solution for the bad economy that centers around the development of domestic energy. It makes sense since it is exactly what Biden did only in reverse. Low gas prices will bring down the price of everything else.

Trump is using tariffs as a weapon. It the countries that are putting tariffs on American goods he will put tariffs on the goods that they send to this country. If the countries that are sending sall their criminals and insane people to this country do not take them back, Trump could put a tariff on their goods until they accept their people. China was manipulating their currency which resulted in an unfair trade imbalance so Trump put a tariff on some Chinese made goods.

Trump will fix the economy. Harris will make it worse and then tax us all to death to pay for her crazy ideas.

When I encounter people on this platform that do not know basic economics it scares me. Not everything is about corpporate greed. Prices are not going up; the value of your money is going down. What causes the value of your money to go down? That is 100% on our government and deficit spending. Our national debt is 35,200,000,000,000. Money can be printed by governments. Wealth is created by adding value to a good or service and creating profit. Everyone should learn this in high school, sadly no one does.

Have you taken any economics courses? Price fixng like the Democrats propose, never works. The way to lower prices is at the source, which includes the supply chain.

That is why I am not voting for Harris. So if Trump's policies were an overall detriment to the economy, I wouldn't vote for him. However, I think Trump will be good for the economy; though there are a few economic things that I don't support that he will do. So if a better candidate comes along, I would vote for them. But at this point it seems like everyone is locked in.

She was put in charge of the border as vice president but says she will fix it as president but hasn’t as vice president so why would we believe she will as president?
