Question for Leftists # 4: Which side has a Creepy Obsession with Children? The Left or the Right?

Let me elaborate. I'm not in grade school anymore, nor I am teacher, so I have no way of knowing. But I've heard tell that in some schools they're reading books to children about trans (and sometimes gay) lifestyles, and that such books are sexually explicit. Some on the Left argue that kids need to learn from a young age about accepting others, and also that kids need to recognize from a young age whether they're trans or not and how to tell.

And I think I've heard a few Leftists state that the reason Right-wingers are focused on trans kids issues is not because they are concerned with kids being damaged beyond repair at a young age, but because they're creepy perverts who are obsessed with kid's genitals. In contrast, those on the Right state that since Leftists seem to care a lot about sexual freedom, this was eventually going to lead to them touching kids and that this outcome was inevitable. And thus the Left are the ones who are creepily obsessed with kid's genitals.

I don't know much about what they are teaching kids these days, nor am I an expert on trans issues, so I have no right to speak objectively about these things. So who do YOU think is in the right and in the wrong?

I'm not in grade school or a teacher either, but I have researched this since I have a child who will be soon, and what/whether they teach about lgbt+ topics was a concern for me.

There are no nationwide standards for this subject matter. The standards for states and individual schools vary a lot.

The most liberal that I've found have been like some schools in California. For younger students, there are books available in the library that include and talk about lgbt+ characters in the same way as cishet characters. For older kids, this is also the case, but there is obviously more in-depth and mature subject matter due to the books being for more mature readers. There is also teaching in classes about it—also separated by age. For younger kids, there is the general concepts of sex, gender, expression, and identity, usually layed out on a cartoon person. There is no discussion of genitals or sexual activity. For the older kids, there is, and this teaching simply includes lgbt+ examples as well as cishet ones.

In the most conservative schools that I've found (such as some in Florida) there is little or NO teaching about lgbt+ people or topics, sex, or genitals—at any level. There is also policy in place meant to enforce trans students being treated as their assigned birth sex on all levels, with consequences against it such as supportive teachers being fired and the student's parent being told if the child is trying to keep it secret.

Unfortunately the schools near where my family live are much more on the conservative end, so if we send our daughter there she would essentially be isolated from all lgbt+ respesentation in education areas (books, history, sex ed) unless we take extra measures to make sure she has that information available to her or directly teach it to her ourselves. She could also face extra scrutiny if other students' parents or the school faculty know that both her parents are trans—which could happen at any school, but at least at a more liberal one the students would be aware of trans people as a concept and that we aren't freaks or monsters, and that we have kids like anyone else and she isn't a freak or monster either.

My husband/her father has started floating the idea of homeschooling her just to avoid the higher risks of a conservative public school system. But I know the younger generation is more aware of lgbt+ people and I know she would benefit a lot from the social parts of public school and make friends and everything, even if the cards may be stacked against her and we would still have to make up for all the holes in the education parts...

Those one the left aren't obsessed about children's genitals they are just saying stop trying to police what people want to do with them.

It's people on the right who are obsessed, enforcing rules and laws that require doctors to give young girls genital exams to ensure they are female at birth before they can play sports. It's creepy and authoritarian as fuck. And that's coming from someone who isn't left or right.

Most people aren’t far left or far right, it’s just that leftists who live inside of a cult think that anybody who has any differing beliefs then they do must be alt right extremists. But that’s projection because they’re so far left anything seems far right wing.

The whole creepy perverts thing is also projection that’s who most of these people are. They are very over sexualized and probably many unfortunately turned to a reprobate mind. Some may also be sadly well meaning people who are just mislead but that’s another story.

Calling people transphobic or homophobic is also retarded because of the fact not all transgenders and gay people don’t all think the same plenty of them are also agaisnt the transitioning of children.

Its not even close, its the Republicans who are being creepy here. We dont even have to go into details really since the Republicans almost universally stand for two things. The bible and anti-trans. The Republicans are openly wanting to check the genitalia of children so that men and women does not participate in each others sports or go into each others bathrooms under the excuse that they are trans. As for books, there is basically no book in any library with as much violent, hateful and sexual content as the bible.

As long as the Republicans has their hard-line stance on trans and are pushing the bible they honestly dont have a leg to stand on. I could talk for hours on more examples, and it gets pretty disgusting the further you go, but I picked these two specifically because its universal and impossible to argue against.
