Does anyone feel like that public square/socialization has really declined?

I feel like people in public are going out less. It seems like everyone in the world is significantly less friendly. Has anyone else noticed this?

I make friends, but only in groups that I'm already part of. I can't seem to make friends with randoms at bars/events/parks.

Nope, was out in Cambridge other day, just as friendly and chatting, over the summer spent a fair bit of time there, Jesus green etc, all usual fun chats.

yes, nobody goes out. Just a few years ago there were shopping malls all over the place. They were always full of people. Now they are closing all over the place.

Very much so. It was declining before Covid as well, but the decline accelerated a huge amount during the pandemic years.

Declined? I would say it's headrd. towards extinction. Social media, texting, OLD are rotting everything from the inside out.
