I would say yes. In my experience pages like this but social media in general disconnects people rather than connects people as it leads to the illusion that just exchanging messages can build connection. But in my connection is developed by shared experiences.

Yes, Maggie Jackson wrote a book called "Distracted" which deals with the effects of technology on people. She writes that people can have a thousand Facebook Friends and not have anybody that you can discuss personal issues with.
