I blame social media for a lot of the reasons because I lived in a time when social media wasn’t really a thing , before we had cellphones with internet access. People actually cared about each other , valued each other , were more respectful to each other etc.. I was married to a girl before all this technology nonsense took off , and sadly after all those years of being loyal and honest and loving to my wife a d having beautiful children together it sadly , turned to complete shit , the second my wife got addicted to Facebook and Instagram etc. the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with , she became a girl I no longer knew. She pretty much disappeared right in front of my eyes , she became selfish , she became vicious and mean to me , she started criticizing me , belittling me , comparing me to other people , started choosing her toxic friends over Me , stop wanting to be intimate and affectionate to me , when she never did that before. Now all of a sudden I am a POS to her and our relationship went to shit. So entering the dating world today has been a shock to me , like WTF happened to people? Casual sex is ok now? and , no one cares about STD’s? Like WTF happened to our society? I feel bad for the new generation coming in , walking into to this nonsense? I know I am considered an old man now mainly because of my kids, but damn I feel bad for you younger generation. I am no holly roller , but people need to open the Bible , instead of opening up social media. Trust me Do you agree

I was born in 1987, and let me tell you, you are right about what you said. Life back then was simple and easy. Now, however, things are different, it feels as if people are throwing themselves into chaos. In the past, there was a sense of stability and community. People had time to connect, to enjoy the little moments, and to support one another. Life had a rhythm that felt more manageable. Fast forward to today, and we see a world filled with rapid change, constant distractions, and overwhelming pressures.

I am very sorry you have had this bad life experience. I do think the narcissism that social media has created is the root cause for all the reasons you have given.

In my country, because men have stopped marrying women - the writing is on the wall in big red letters now - it has been changed such that I am effectively common law married at 2 years. I found that out the day after I made the decision the relationship was in had to end.

It is not viable to be in a relationship for two years if you want your assets to be safe. Lets say 1 year max to be cautious of court revisions downwards. I always use condoms to have control of fertility because girlfriend's do 'forget' to take the pill and I know guys that were caught out on that.

The median marriage of 8 years is suspiciously close to the time it takes to have 1.8 children and for both to get into elementary school. There is another blip up at 20 years - at the empty nest. Is that about when your wife went negative? The only rock solid marriages appear to be those 30+ years - from before 1994.

In another 20 years they'll be mostly gone.

I don't think anyone is getting the most out of life in this general scenario. As well as not marrying and not having children we have to avoid her having a tooth brush at our abode now because that indicates a relationship. Don't socialize with her friends and don't let her socialize with your friends.

I noticed things changing when I learned sufficient English… I was in HS with the churches being shut done due to low enrollment. That was like around the 90s. Then the message about accepting body images with obesity being okay. More recently (social media) noticing hates between American families …

media is not the only source. I agree it does play a large part. Mostly the fall of family values. Women not willing to be women anymore… so they are raising entitle brags. Which is current generation.

some kids from good families are still not too bad… however most kids/families are not doing well due to multiple factors. Social media is definitely one of the very strong influences to all these hate and negativity.

if you watch news... it's the worst of the worst, and yes, that is the concern of many that our values are declining and changing. We never mentioned gay/lesbian more than few times when I was in high school... now you are weird if you are straight... in some places. Crime, etc...

But if you surround yourself with positive influences and good quality people, you will see lots of good and not take on the stress the world is dumping into your house. They used to do it through TV news and some shows. Now it's everywhere. The music forced on you is also full of garbage.
