How much time is enough?

We hear on the news all the time, That some person commits murder. killing old people, young people, little kids. Then we hear the criminals who commit these crimes are caught and brought to justice, they are given the death penalty. But then they stay on death Row for many many years before they are executed. Unfortunately, some live the rest of their lives on death row without being executed. My question is how much time is enough time for a person to be on Death row before being executed after being convicted, for the crime they committed?

Lots of times its because they have the right to appeal the charges.. but honestly if they never get out of there it is a good punishment in its self as long as they are actually guilty.

But then give life imprisoned instead?

@strateguy632 Yes but he is meant to be put down.. but they have to wait until he can't appeal it anymore, it's the law to hopefully make sure he is 100% guilty and no mistake was made.. then they give the execution date.

3 -5 years max would be ideal

In ancient law delayed was a crime! Once court decided cannot delay that "adds agony" to the one waiting. The court would be guilty.

I admit one appeal is good as an exit, but it needs to be without delay, a few judges n jury, one day of best evidence only, because it is not a punishment of life imprisoned so it can't be.

The democratically appointed judges in most countries, appointed by the head of state or politicians, always know best. That's why they're judges, law educated judges 👀
