What’s your time limit?

Hi friends me and my boyfriend are nearing our 6 year anniversary and I got to be honest I’m wondering if he will ever propose or am I just wasting my time? What’s the time limit here !! I read all kinds of shit like after 2 years a man knows whether it’s yes or no. Is it wrong of me to be feeling this way I mean I can’t help but feel as if he's wasting my time

Really deepens on the circumstances and conversations that you have had together over the course of the 6 years. If you have made it know you want marriage, then one would think after 6 years he would have asked by now if really wanted it.

I usually say I want to date a woman for a year before moving in together, and i want to live with her for a year before considering marriage. I do not really believe in the institution of marriage personally... but if I seriously loved a woman and she wanted marriage... then yeah after about 2 years I really loved her I would marry her.

But I been divorced once, and I own assets so I would want a prenuptial. Marriage is more about a legal commitment then anything to do with love these days. So legally i would want my asset protected... at 46 I am too old to risk by retirement future. Everything I have is paid off and I would want all preexisting assets prior to the marriage protected.

If your ideal is to get married, then just tell him it means a lot to you (I'm sure you've hinted it already?).

For me personally getting married is just a title I want when I have Children. Because If something happens to me or my Girl/wife/woman. Then I know the children will be in good hands due to contracting and planning ahead (will).

I won't be loved any less nor more if she's my wife or girlfriend.

If it means a lot to her or are bound on sacred,/religious reasons then yeah sure.

But I mean it's just a title. She'll still be my wife/better half even if we're not married.

You are wasting your time. He's getting his free milk and can leave when it spoils. Men don't commit after six years because they never plan to commit. Eventually you'll age out of what he finds attractive and leave for someone younger or more attractive.

What expectations did you set with him at the beginning? How have you worked to hold him to those expectations all this time? Did you have goals and milestones that you worked on together to help make this all happen?

If you aren't an active participant in the process, you shouldn't expect a lot of progress to happen on its own. Marriage is going to gain HIM very little, but is going to vastly increase his responsibility and risks. It shouldn't be a surprise that he's not in any hurry to do that. Have you given him any reasons to look forward to being in a marriage?

You need to understand that most guys are very marriage-averse today, for a lot of reasons that should be obvious to any honest person. Odds are he is one of them. If marriage is your goal, you need to have a frank discussion with him. If he's not in, it's time to move on.

The time limit would be until she offers a prenuptial agreement with the stipulations I want in it. Otherwise the answer would be to never get married.

6 fucken years and he hasn’t proposed? If you haven’t discussed getting married yet. Bring it up. If he doesn’t want what you want stop wasting your time given that marriage is more so what you want and care about
