I'd probably engage military to take over the countries where people coming from. Enough is enough. Make them additional states, and then train people and they can be part of economy. Trying to fit everyone in USA makes no sense. Needs done in africa and south america at minimum.

Then fix the economic problems once under control. Can give the countries a year or two to fix the problems, but it'sn ever worked. they are corrupt. So take over.

otherwise, you are enabling people to die in these boat disasters, be murdered/tortured traveling.

it lead to WWIII probably unless done quick.

We periodically have one when a Left gov't gets in after which they are kicked out and a conservative one is elected.

We are girt by sea so the playbook is always the same. The boat is intercepted and the illegal aliens are taken on a free tropical island holiday to be detained for the duration.

We already have a barrier for that, and it helped, US need a strong barrier too I would say.

That depends on A LOT of factors!!

How are they arriving?
Who's supposed to vet them?
Asylum or job seekers?
Do they have established family?
Do they have a special skill?
Is a job waiting for them?
Are they healthy?
Do they have hosts or sponsors?
Do they have proof of identity?
Do they have $ to not be burden?

Make it easier to come here legally and harder to come here illegally.

If many migrants were fleeing violent drug cartels, I think ending the war on drugs would help.

I'd call on the UN to do more peacekeeping in war torn countries that a driving out refeguees.

Secure the border, make people go through correct channels, and have enough personnel to enforce and handle them.

Most important, advertise in countries where migrants are coming from what the proper procedure is to emigrate.

Secure the borders and start deportations. I would also cut off all welfare benefits to any illegal alien.  It might take a few years to fix it but it is a war worth fighting.

Not much you can do about it, but I live in a harsher climate, so there is a smaller chance that i would feel the effects of that here.
Unless they are used to it, the would not last long here and move on.

Use ICE and deport them. Prosecute companies that exploit them as cheap labor and fine homeowners who hire them. Any who are charged and convicted of a crime can never become a US citizen.

Don't accept migratns, except these from countries that have similar culture. Immigration from countries with different culture only causes social unrest.
