My parents are pressuring me to cancel my weapon purchase. Thoughts?

I just purchased a Cobra Adder Repeated Tactical Crossbow. My parents urged me to submit a cancelation request. What are your thoughts?

I am prepping for civil unrest. Tensions are high and I want to be able to defend myself. Godforbid a Kamalatoe "win". I am concerned about a civil war and potential WW3.
