History, anthropology and sociology tell me that it's a core part of humanity, of how humanity needs culture, invents culture constantly, culture to be broken in smaller pieces that we call tribes. I wonder if there is even a recent increase of this motion? More tribes appearing in societies, only in societies that don't repress tribalism, broadly speaking, democracies.
I don't see a problem here, in general, except when tribes are made to reject another tribe instead of pushing onward with belonging.
100% should.
But will? Maybe but would take a long very long time maybe hasted by technology.
Tribalism is not a positive thing, it's an irrational behavior of Us vs Them and is to blame for all cases of it. Whether that's War to Women vs Men or Family against Family or Racism.
Ya know I loved my 2nd high school because the goths hung around chavs and nobody cared. The top party girl in our school was a goth not some blonde stereotypical mean girl and that's how it should be.
Who cares if your different if you can party, you can party. If your a friend your a friend.

It should but we won't as long as humanity continues as it is. Billions need to die. Technology as we have it needs to die. We cannot be unified until we all those who cause division, and their ideas, die.

Of course. It's just a process is all. The problem as always is the people who most want the result tend to be the people who least want to endure the process. But we've come far despite that so there is no reason to believe we won't keep going.
Not left to its own devices. I think it would take an outside force to truly unite humanity. Like the arrival of an alien species. In other words, not in our lifetimes and likely not ever.
No. It's been around since before we could even talk, write, or draw, before we started using fire, etc. since we were slightly more than monkeys.
No. It's an evolutionary advantage and a DAMN good one too.
we are still tribal... in essence, and act very much like it
it is in our very nature
You mean family? The basis of civilisation is that everyone helps each other in the tribe
Once Trump is out of the picture maybe. it'll take awhile though
