Is Argentina, Southern Brazil and Uruguay part of The West?

These South American countries (called the southern cone of South America) are more white and European in ethnicity and culture than the rest of Latin America which is mostly mixed race and brown.

Buenos Aires is known as the Paris of the south.

With Brazil, it doesn't work that way. Either the WHOLE country is, or it's not at all.

The other two, I honestly can't answer for. There are differing definitions of what's considered "Western". Some base it off politics. Some base it off culture. Some base it off military alliances. And others simply base it off of geography.

I know Uruguay and Argentina consider themselves more European than Latin American. I don't really like this term "Western" or "The West". I think they're more similar to the United States and Europe than they are to other Latin American countries, in terms of lifestyle and quality of life. So maybe culturally and socially, "YES", but in terms of other factors, I'm not so sure.

All of Latin America is culturally Western. Being Western isn't really about race since not only white Americans are Western.

The only exceptions might be Cuba and Venezuela since they're politics don't align with the West.

Culturally and historically, it would be difficult to say that they are not Western.
