Which region of Argentina would be more interesting to visit?

BUENOS AIRES

Pros: You can experience the Tango and Gaocho culture that's so synonymous with the country. It has more museums, parks and a more diverse array of historical sites. It's by the water, has islands and you can see wildlife. You can take a day trip to Uruguay.

Cons: It's a massive city with 10 million people and is very touristy and also the political center, so protests are possible. The geography isn't very interesting.

or CORDOBA

Pros: It's a much smaller and less touristy city, so it might feel more authentic. Has a beautiful Old Town and lots of Colonial history. Has a university and theater culture. You can day trip to Spanish missions and German villages. Has some fascinating religious sites and folklore and also has a diverse range of museums and cultural/historical sites. The geography is more interesting. My sports crush lives there.

Cons: It's doesn't have any forts or estancias. It's not on the coast. You can't day trip to another country. It doesn't really have opportunities to experience the Tango and Gaocho culture that the country is so famous for.
