Why do you think it seem like men are more homophobic than women?

This is just one recent example but the same thing has been happening for decades.
Most people who have been carrying out physical assaults on people just because they were homosexual are men.

The definition of Phobia means a fear or an aversion. Wanting to assault somebody entirely because they are gay very much seems like an aversion to me. An aversion means a strong dislike. It seems correct to me to call a person “homophobic” if they feel urges to beat another entirely because the other person is gay.

There is a difference between dislike and strong dislike
An aversion means strong dislike

This is a question I've thought about a lot in my life. Why are these men so challenged by gays? You know I had a very good friend who used to do this ( physical gay bashing ) , I was really shocked when I found out , and confronted him , with something along the lines of he was maybe a latent gay , and why would he feel so challenged that he felt the need to bash gay males? He was not happy and became really aggressive ( now he has 4 children , and I'm pretty sure he'd be far more accepting ) , but I honestly think they feel challenged , and maybe even have gay tendencies themselves , because why otherwise would you do this?

I think the reason is the same in sports , virtually ALL gay women come out , yet for example in AFL football , NO male has ever come out , this number just can't be true , I've known a number a gay guys , they all have just been nice people ( well mostly ) and I hate the thought of someone hunting them down purely to bash them.

Its a sad tale , that men can be this stupid , and that challenged.

I agree , but its more than sad , its just ludicrous , and I'm sure some of these " brave bashers " ( yeah really brave right ) and probably latent gays themselves , that's why they feel so challenged.

Men are naturally more aggressive than women so they are going to do something physical if they don’t like something but women won’t usually if they don’t like something and seem to be more ok with homosexuality than men anyway

Because men do tend to be as for why it could be many things probably to do with how we grow young boys from a early age me for example I believe people are complety free to date fuck and marry who they want and I would never have a issue with that but their is a level of dislike if I saw 2 guys kissing infront of me which at the end of the day is a me problem and I'm not sure as to why I have those feelings

It's generally more culturally acceptable for women to be intimate with each other than men. Men also have an instinct to assert dominance. Humans are apes like any other, after all.

It should be noted, as well, that measuring who is more homophobic by who commits more assaults is a little misleading, though. Men are more likely to commit assault period. Again, because of testosterone.

Because women are not expected to adhere to some Macho code by which they are judged by.

A man will be judged by men and women alike by appearing weak. A woman will be judge minimally by appearing to fancy women.
