Would you care if you had an openly trans neighbor?

Like they have a flag up, and they have noticeably masculine features (like shadow of facial hair and deeper voice) but wear clearly feminine clothes (like blouses or carrying a purse).

Would you care, would this bother you at all? Or would you not mind, would you treat them the same as any other neighbor and be friendly?

Asking for myself. I'm still early in transition but want to stop being scared and hiding it, and may end up moving soon anyway. I live in a purple state so it's a toss-up what kind of people new neighbors would be, so anyone's feedback is welcome. :)

About 10% of homes here have some sort of flag up, so that's not very unusual for the area, although whether it's pride flags, American flags, or political flags can vary a lot.

I don't care for the use of the symbolism of the rainbow to be elsewhere other than as the occasional, beautiful natural event that is to be treasured when one gets lucky enough to see one arcing across the sky, on a young child's artwork, or the artwork of anyone depicting a rainbow in a realistic manner.
That is my opinion.

For a very small group of people to claim use of such a beautiful natural event for their own purposes is not cool, to me.

I'm a fisherman, a builder of cigar box guitars, a resuscitatee from cardiac arrest, a husband, son, father, uncle, nephew, a man, I have only 8 toes, the list of my characteristics goes on.
What might people think if I were to display flags denoting each of those attributes or characteristics of myself?
Or even if I were to display just one single flag denoting any randomly selected one of those characteristics?
My guess is that they'd probably think that I've got bats in my belfry.

So, I think that the rainbow flag thing needs to go away entirely.
I really do.
Again, that's my opinion. I have every right to holding it and to declaring it.
I find the subject to be of the utmost importance.
I don't lose sleep over it, since I already have enough to be concerned about, but, yes, to me, rainbows are too special to be used as they recently have, as flags.

As to the person themselves, I'd say this: "Welcome, neighbor, let me know if there's ever anything that I can do for you or help you with.
Do you happen to like fishing?
I'm looking for a fishing partner."

I think I understand what you mean about the rainbow, but personally I don't hold the same opinion. We use many amazing things from nature even stars and the sun and moon in flags. Anyway the trans flag is the one in the picture, it is not rainbow colors.
I appreciate you can separate your concerns of the flags from being neighbor to someone though. I hope you have good neighbors.

The most I know is the ones to the right have a smashed window and a dog.
And the ones to left sometimes smoke weed as I can smell it when walking by.
I just want to live my life in peace and knowing less people achieves that so I have no need to know them.

I would not care as long as they are not insane and in touch with reality. I have watched Blaire White on YouTube and I would happily be friends with her or a trans person that is similar to her

Honestly, I am not saying this in an intentional attempt to upset you honestly but I think putting up a trans flag or LGBT flag would probably increase your chances of being bullied or harassed if other people who walk by your house see it. I don’t like seeing other people sad. You can do what you wish but I really think it would be better for you not to hang the flag. Minority groups are usually targeted more for bullying and discrimination compared to majority groups

Thank you for concern, but I think things have changed more recently. Even on a site like this it seems most people wouldn't go out of their way to attack a minority in real life. The ones who would, they will find me anyway. I may as well be open and not hide, at least then I can live how I want and not in fear like those few hateful people want me to.

It wouldn't bug me. To me they're like anybody else, and their gender identity and transition (if they choose to do so) is their business and nobody else's. But I think maybe flags should be more for indoor decoration than outside. I only say this because I don't know how other people would react to it. And only you know how your other neighbors are around you. It'd be like if I went out wearing my one pin on my shirt that I bought for Pride while walking around our neighborhood. Only difference is people wouldn't know what it is. But it'd be the same thing.

I have a trans neighbour.
He doesn't share the fact that he is trans with the world, because it's no one's business.
It's not a secret, it's simply irrelevant to anyone else.
Those who know are happy for him to be comfortable with himself... it's about your attitude towards who you are, not what anyone else thinks of it.

Sorry, misunderstood your question. Do you think your neighbors would notice or care? I could live next to a trans person and be completely unaware of it. The only issue I have is that some of the hottest women I've ever noticed have (upon closer inspection) not been women. In the place Pigalle in Paris I saw a gorgeous black woman who-upon closer inspection- was not, in fact, a biological woman. Good luck w/ whatever happens.

I don't know if they would care, that's why I ask. I am tired of hiding of trying to blend in though, I want to be myself and not worry whether someone thinks I'm a "real" woman or not. I hope most people would not care, but I worry, so I ask to see how people think in hypothetical. I will say this though, to further answer your original question. While most people won't go to the same lengths that I might, I can guarantee that the large majority of people will NOT be happy if a tranny moved into the neighborhood. Even if they didn't say anything to your face, they will be talking shit behind your back. There might be one or two who don't care, but most WILL care. And that is what you asked about.

Trannies are not widely accepted in society, even though a lot of people try to pretend otherwise.

You know why I answered the way I did? Because I knew most people wouldn't give a completely honest answer. Here on GaG (and elsewhere) you might get a bunch of politically correct answers. But that's a big problem with political correctness, it's dishonest.
