After they killed their own border bill because trump whined about having nothing to campaign on if it passed it seems like it shouldn't even be a something worth speculating over in the media. Yet every day I seem to see a new article that talks about the border without mentioning how republicans killed their own border bill because trump whined about having nothing to campaign on if it passed. Are they just going to keep memory holing ut?
8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The so-called "border bill" was a Ukraine aid bill that would have continued to let 5k illegals enter until the border would actually be required to be enforced, and even that enforcement would have been very unlikely to occur under a Democratic administration that has allowed unlimited immigration. The bill was not designed to stop illegal entry or protect the border- it was designed merely to give Democratic Party propagandists like you a BS talking point.
No one in their right mind would say the Democrats are better on the border given that they have encouraged and allowed unlimited immigration. And there are already plenty of laws under which illegal entry can be prevented and illegals deported, yet the Democrats show no interest in doing that. The claim they needed this bill to finally do something about the unlimited immigration they have faciliated and encouraged is pure BS and you know it.

Anonymous(30-35)1 yWhat border bill? There was no border bill. There was a Ukraine bill that threw a few scraps for the border.
Asker1 yNo, the border deal republicans worked on for weeks. They probably didn't cover it in the right wing misinformation bubble because they were waiting for democrats to reject it. But then when democrats said "okay!" they went with radio silence so that might be why you haven't heard of it.
Opinion Owner1 yLink?
Asker1 yWhat would you like a link to?
Opinion Owner1 yThis bill you speak of. The only bill I'm aware of gave 60 or 70 billion to Ukraine and only 20 billion to the border. Is this not the bill you're talking about? If not, let's see the info on the bill you're talking about.
Asker1 yNo, that's the bill. "Only" 20 billion, which is what top Republicans determined was sufficient to fix the vast majority of the border issues republicans complain about. Unfortunately, fixing them meant Trump couldn't campaign on it so he had them kill it.
Opinion Owner1 yIt was a Ukraine bill.
Asker1 yWhich republicans demanded have real border fixes or they would not let it pass. So it was both.
Beginning to suspect you, also, didn't want the border fixed because you wanted Trump to be able to campaign on it 🤔
Opinion Owner1 yNo. If a bill has over triple the funds going to Ukraine, it's a Ukraine bill. The border was an afterthought.
Asker1 yNope, it just costs what it costs. War is more expensive is all. Real work went into it by tip republicans. You're just a fake who wants Trump and thought the border should remain a campaign issue is all.
Opinion Owner1 yOh, piss off. It was a bad bill and I don't care if some people that call themselves republicans liked it. I was happy to see it fail. It really wouldn't have secured anything and I'm sick of funding Zelensky's gravy train.
Asker1 yIt was a spectacular bill that would have addressed the vast majority of issues you fakes pretend to care about. You don't like it because you want trump to have something to campaign on.
Opinion Owner1 yWell, you're the smart guy, please tell us plens how the bill would have secured the border.
Asker1 yGlad you asked. Let's walk through it: do you know what "catch and release" is?
Opinion Owner1 yJust answer the question.
Asker1 yI'm answering your question but rather than typing a long thing I want to step you through it point by point to see where i lose you. So, do you know what catch and release is?
Opinion Owner1 yIt's not a good thing
Asker1 yRight. And the reason it is a thing is because legal asylum seekers can't be detained indefinitely. Our constitution assures a speedy trial and since we assume innocence until guilt is proven, we have to assume they are legal asylum seekers when they claim to be, which means we can't keep them waiting in jail for years for their court date. This has nothing to do with any executive orders or bills so far - its just established constitutional law. Make sense so far?
Opinion Owner1 yLook, answer or don't
Bullet points. I don't have all day to play with you.
Asker1 yI'll assume that makes sense, then.
So, one of the reasons catch and release is a problem is because people just straight up skip their court date and there isn't a lot one can do about it. This is how the vast majority of illegal immigrants who crossed the border by land get here.
Tp fix this, one of the main components of the border bill was to massively expand the number of immigration judges and lawyers. So, every single person who came to our border claiming legal asylum would have a court date scheduled withing a matter of days. Then it is no longer a considered a constitutional violation to detain them until their court date and the whole catch and release system goes away. Plus, just knowing that loophole no longer exists might be enough to deter would be illegal immigrants from bothering to try.
But Trump killed all this because he wanted to campaign on the border.
Opinion Owner1 yOr we could just close it all down.
Asker1 yThat would violate a lot of treaties, alienate allies, and empower enemies. Which, i guess I can see why Republicans want it..
Opinion Owner1 yYou're so smug and superior, aren't you?
Asker1 ySo, sounds like you don't like it because you just want trump, as I said from the start 🙄
Opinion Owner1 yI don't like it because I don't like it. Nothing at all to do with Trump. You aren't interested in discussion, you're invited in acting superior and patting yourself on the back while telling others why they believe what they believe. I know what I believe, and why. I don't need some arrogant windbag to tell me.
Asker1 yIf it appears that I am acting superior consider the possibility that I've tried to have this conversation before with Trump supporters who claim to care about the border but turned out not to actually care nearly as much as getting Trump back. What you are registering g as superiority is really just caution to try to keep you pinned down on what you claim to care about because that is what your side has made necissarily to get anywhere in a discussion at all. Just saying it would bother the hell out of me if it were my side 🤷
Opinion Owner1 yYour experiences with other people are not my problem. Don't presume to tell me about me.
Asker1 yWell, for what it's worth this does seem to have been a far more productive conversation than I have with most Trump supporters. Thanks for that, anyway
Opinion Owner1 yHave a good day
Asker1 yYou as well!

1 yBiden signed an executive order his very first day in office to suspend Trump’s remain in Mexico policy. And he did it just to spite Trump.
Asker1 yRight, because as the article clearly states, the policy wasn't working. Do you want to fix the problem or do you just love to bitch and whine about it like all the other whiny bitches?
- 1 y
Well PBS is a leftist publication so of course they are going to claim Trump’s policy “didn’t work”.
But I don’t remember having huge illegal migrant crisis when Trump was in office, do you? He was doing something right.
But go ahead and provide the source about republicans blocking the border reform bill. I believe this is because the democrats where trying to push a bunch of unrelated crap in the bill. But I would like to research it further.
Asker1 yYou mean you don't remember right wing media telling you there was a migrant crisis. Well, other than the caravans they made up for the 2018 election, of course...
- 1 y
You aren’t arguing with any facts here.
Yes I said PBS is liberal simply because that’s the truth. If someone said a Fox News article has a conservative bias I would be like “yeah no shit”. You know I actually try to avoid providing any links to articles from Fox or other outlets when debating these issues. I shared a PBS article on purpose because even they admitted Biden suspended Trump’s remain in Mexico policy.
But I got one simple question. Who’s policy worked better? Trump or Biden’s? And I ask that question as a whole for ALL Americans. Most Americans preferred what Trump was doing because they are observing with THEIR OWN EYES the chaos of what Biden has done.
Here is a non-partisan poll on how Americans feel about illegal immigration:
news.gallup.com/.../...icans-curb-immigration.aspx - 1 y
Anyway if you want to argue about the republican Congress killing the border bill then you first need to admit that all this chaos is 100% originated from the Biden administration. Just admit it. If you can do that we can continue to debate what Trump did with using his influence to kill the border bill was right or wrong. But again you need to ADMIT THAT BIDEN made a Down syndrome decision to suspend Trumps original remain in Mexico policy. Admit that was beyond asinine. THEN we can continue about what the republicans and Trump have done. That’s more debatable. Not totally agreeing with republican Congress did there either. But democrats really are 100% at fault for initiating this crisis.
By the way Biden has the executive power to shut down the border today if he wanted to. But he won’t.
Asker1 yoh, some videos with top republicans about trump killing the border deal:

there are others but this was from a single google search- 1 y
Right right right.
But you still didn’t admit who originally is responsible for this entire mess. Can you or can you not admit that Biden was a complete moron to reverse Trump’s remain in Mexico policy?
I swear that so many leftists believe if they ever admit the democrats did anything wrong then its “a win for Trump”. They argue to BE right vs. figuring out WHAT is right.
Asker1 yWhat mess? If there was a real concern republicans would prioritize fixing it over campaigning on it.
Right?- 1 y
You just can’t admit it can you. Just can’t do it. Can’t admit the cold hard fact I reiterated over and over again that Joe Biden is solely responsible for ending Trump’s remain in Mexico policy. The policy WORKED. It kept the illegal immigrant flow under control.
But let’s just assume that anything Trump did during his administration and I do mean anything was evil and wrong. Just do the exact opposite and if it backfires then do all you can to avoid responsibility.
Asker1 yI already "admitted" to the basic but irrelevant fact that Biden ended trumps failing border policies. Why won't you admit that trump blocked a bill that would have fixed nearly everything you pretend to whine about? Well, I ask but we both already know (whiny bitch 😅)
- 1 y
Trump’s “failing policies” yet we didn’t have a illegal immigrant crisis during his term and now most Americans by hard polling data statistics (that I provided above) are pissed off about this.
If you could of just owned up to Biden f*cking this all up to begin with (which you ducked) THEN we could of debated what republican congress did. Hell I might of admitted that what Trump did was dirty (democrats did the exact same bs blocking COVID relief back in 2020 but that’s another topic). But just pretend that this is all the republicans fault when the f*cking Biden administration was 100% responsible for this border catastrophe to begin with.
But tell you what mr “brave” anon. Just go around and call anybody who disagrees with you and argues with facts a “whiny bitch”. Seriously just do it. Really argue like a school yard child and see how many people you win over. See how it works out. And if it doesn’t work out just run back to your echo chamber to feel better about yourself.
But I get it. TDS is an incurable psychosis. I mean your such a grown ass man after all for dodging hard facts 👍
Asker1 yWe had basically the same border issues for 40+ years. Right wing media just didn't tell you to think it was scary and because you're a simpering moron you followed your big strong thought leaders without question.
- 1 y
You know I haven’t gotten to exercise as much as I like to recently (got a bad cold recently) however I got to thank you. I’m laughing so hard at your pathetic projection that my stomach is hurting right now. Also the way you set up your poll options like: A) republicans “control” the media (ha ha ha…yeah good one) and the only other option is B) all the above (that’s even more hilarious). And even posted all of this anon while trying to act all tough.
Normally I see this pathetic child like behavior from tik tok female leftist twats like supercutebutt and purplepoppy. But a grown ass man over 35 acting this way? Seriously? Trump Derangement Syndrome really is that increíble. Just unreal.
But thanks for the good comedy though.
Asker1 yYeah, when a nail is hit on the head it traditionally gives a satisfying ringing sound. But now it also tries to say it was laughter 😂

1 ywell realisticly the border is not a big enough problem for the vast majority of the population. like illegal immigrants aren't getting massive social wellfare like in germany. usually they try to get a job to get by. yeah the criminal ones are the problem but the question is at what point does the cost of prevention outgrow the cost of fighting back?
Asker1 yWhether or not it's a real problem doesn't change the fact that republicans are campaigning on it, yet the media refuses to remind people that republicans killed their own solution to the very thing they are campaigning on.
- 1 y
well the fact is all sides politicians are campeigning on all sorts of shit and realisticly nothing ever gets better. so why the fuck would people get lost in the debate between A and B, if the result is effectively the same?
Asker1 yThings have gotten substantially better since Biden became president.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yThe Republican border bill was passed by republicans in the house HR1.
The senate Bill was a democrat immigration bill that would have frozen immigration at the peak levels, regardless of who won.06 Reply
Asker1 yNo, it was a republican bill. Which you would acknowledge of you actually wanted to fix the problem instead of remain a whiny little bitch about it.
Opinion Owner1 yHaving a few republican Rino's work on it does not make it a republican bill. Having a few border provisions which on net permanently leave the border open and encourage illegal immigration with work permits does not make it a broader bill.
Asker1 yBut a rino is simply a republican who doesn't kiss trumps dick. So, calling them rinos doesn't really mean anything.
Opinion Owner1 yA rino is someone who regularly backstabs the republican with their deeds and reputations needlessly. Mitt Romney was a famous when he ran in a republican state, not soo much when he ran in a democrat state.
Asker1 ySo, either Trump is a rino or you are admitting Trump gets dictate the republican agenda.
Opinion Owner1 ythe federal Republican party is lead by the leading federal republican, that is almost always the president if out of office the most popular figure thereof. Trump was both. for the last 8 years so yes he does control the platform. That doesn't really mean much as no republican is bound by the platform.
What makes republican a RINO is their habit of backstabbing other republicans.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yThat bill was for funding Ukraine. You don't need another bill to enforce protections at the border. Use the freaking military and go back to the same remain in Mexico rules that we had 4 years ago. It's pretty simple really. No new laws needed. What's needed is a WILLINGNESS TO ACTUALLY USE THE TOOLS THAT ARE THERE.

Voting is the whole job of congressional representatives. Everything else is just talking. That's how the executive branch is given its orders. Its sad that republicans have ripped so much money out of our public education to line their own pockets with that you don't already know that.
Asker1 yThe executive branch is following all laws on the books
