Yes. They just don't care. What Trump supporters ultimately want is to go backwards in evolution. They have decided civilized life is too hard and want to take a step away from their humanity and towards being a primate. This is exactly one of the reasons I keep saying that Trump is not a real Republican or real conservative. It's one of the reasons why so many Democrats voted for him, possibly more crossover votes than any president.

However, keep in mind what is behind it. People act as if he is trying to start a trade war. He is not. He is just responding to a trade war that already exists. If anything, he is trying to end the already existing trade war by putting pressure on countries that have far more closed trade borders than the US.

All these economists that ramble on about how it will hurt the US economy are not looking at the big picture or the long term picture. One-sided trade with certain countries has seriously hurt the US economy. Plus, there are many other factors besides just the economy.

It is targeted to a specific product and will make John Deeree rethink their plan to move their manufacturing plants to Mexico. I doubt there will ever be a tariff.
It is high taxes and regulations that is causing them to want to move. Trump will negotiate a deal that will be advantageous to both parties.

tariffs have proven to work in the past under the previous 2016 Trump administration and they will continue to work

companies whether foreign or domestic want that American consumer money. companies that choose to build their products overseas and import it to Americans will be slapped with a tax which is the price they pay for wanting to sell to Americans

therefore to avoid this tax, companies will have to build in America which then creates more jobs and more jobs allows for the economy to grow now that America can sell to other Americans at a reasonable price while becoming exports again which drives up the economy even further
