Is anybody else a little bit afraid of driving because of other people?

if this was like an apocalypse land, where there was nobody on the road, I would be fine, but other people give me anxiety because you don’t know what kind of sick people are on the road. And your odds of being killed in a car crash are not insignificant.

An Asian lady literally was directly beside me in the right lane, like, impossible not to see me cause I’m directly next to her, she wouldn’t even have had to look, she could see me in her peripheral without even looking, she turns her blinker on and merges directly into me.




Another instance, I’m merging into a left turn lane, and someone is pulling out across from me out of a bank parking lot, I am going 40mph and this dude literally pulls right into the turn lane without even looking, and if I wasn’t sharp, woulda t boned me.






ANOTHER instance


It’s pouring rain, I’m going down the road, 50mph, some lady pulls out of a daycare parking lot into my lane, when I’m maybe 150 ft away from her.




Yes I’m scared, you can be the best driver in the world but you’re only as good as the idiots around you allow you to be. Best to be hyper aware of everything, and just expect these dumb bastards to do the stupidest things you can imagine. I look like a meth head when I drive now, cause you kinda have to or else some idiot will cause an accident. All those instances are also in a 4 month period. I could sit her for a month listing every experience I’ve had like those.

Purely mathematically driving is the single most dangerous thing a person can do. At the same time you don't see an ambulance carrying bodys everyday do you? Or even hear about celebrity traffic deaths what Paul waker in 2013 and before that i guess princess Diana?

I was for a very long time. I still am, especially on the highway. I will either not pass big trucks that carry cargo (lumber, oil, of food hauling trucks) or move all the way to the other side of the lanes before passing. They stress me out the most. After them are motorcyclists.

No. Drivers‘ licenses here are expensive because you get an actual education. And it shows on the roads.
