Those of you who hate the rich, if you got offered a 7 figure job with a house, a private jet, and massive stock options, would you turn it down?

That's kind of like I don't care for politicians, but if offered the chance to be one, I would certainly take the bag.

It's very easy to stand on principles when you're raging against the machine. It's a lot harder if someone concrete offers you a chance to be Dick Cheney, AOC, be a part of the machine and just bear the people who used to be like you yelling and raging against the machine.

I think 6 figures and solid work would be enough for me. I have kids to worry about beyond myself, and don't feel too strongly about the rich, aside from the vicious pursuit of profit over sustainability.

That depends on the job. If I would never have time for my family or myself it would not be worth it.

Yes.

Private jets crash far more than commercial ones and most are not comfortable. You still need to pay taxes and upkeep on a free house. A 7 figure job means 7 figure problems as well. Massive stock options are worth exactly zero until you cash them. Usually you are not allowed to cash them until a certain period has passed. Even then, you might get half the value, and you still have to pay tax and fees on that value.

This is nothing to do with "hate the rich" (I am rich), but being fucking stupid with money is why you're usually poor.

I don't hate the rich. More power to those who have taken the time, and energy, to do well in their lives. Hating the rich is counter-productive. Most of the money donated to charity comes from wealthy people. Without it government would have to spend more, which means more taxes for all of us.

I don't think it's so much the dislike for the rich, but rather not enough rich people do good with their wealth. You'd have to be a moron to turn it down unless there's strings attached which why wouldn't it be?

The disdain for the wealthy, is not actually rooted in any empathy for the poor and those without, the root of it is envy.
