I know you are being sarcastic, but the United States DOES have the best healthcare in the world. But it's also very expensive. We are subsidizing healthcare for the rest of the world. We pay for the subsidizing, so their healthcare can be cheaper.

A better question is, why does it cost so much more than anywhere else? I've heard people here having to pay $50 to $500 for the same bottle of pills they can get in Cuba or Canada for $5.00!!
And, if our health care is so much better, why is it they refuse to let us know about any of the REAL cancer cures and only shell out drugs to TREAT the symptoms rather than do what's needed to actually CURE what ails us?

It is based on a free enterprise system. We also have the best teaching hospitals and doctors in the world. We take it for granted but while Covid was going on it was hard to get proper care because the hospitals were all overloaded. It was a little scary.

I also like how corporations lobbies doctors to prefer their medication over others irrespective of the patients actual needs or how the advertise to the public to "ask your doctor for X product". Truly a dystopian situation that one might expect to see in cyberpunk fantasy worlds.
