During my physical in February, my WBC was elevated.
I needed to retest in March. I just did.
Now, my WBC is even HIGHER!
They're going to call me tomorrow to schedule more testing...
So, given my family history of cancer, there is a very real possibility that I have cancer - in particular, an acute leukemia.
If I get the such a diagnosis, instead of destroying my family financially with oceans of medical bills that I would never be able to pay off if I was healthy, I will opt for death with no treatment.
Why?
Because I live in the United States of America.

So yesterday I had to call Central scheduling because they hadn't called me yet. So my doctor had prescribed for me an oncology referral. When's that oncology referral appointment? April 22nd. Basically 4 weeks from now. I may likely go to Stage 4 cancer by then.

Healthcare outcomes are not on the agenda and profits are the primary focus for insurance companies, big pharma, brokers, HMO's, and PBM's. Nah, Mangioni took out the CEO of United Healthcare. One the big 5 health insurance companies The biggest actually, with $448 Billion in revenue in 2025.

The others are Elevance (formerly Anthem Blue Cross), Aetna (now CVS), Centene (mainly Medicare), HCSC (Blue Cross). In total they cover about 50% of the total health insurance market.

Yes, I just had a total hip replacement. I first saw the surgeon in the end of December and he suggested tht I get it done. I was scheduled for the surgery on Jan 14th. It did not take months or years like a lot of countries. I was only in the hospital for 1 day. I had nursing come in to change my dressing and check the wound. I am now receiving 12weeks of outpatient Physical Therapy. I only incurred a 20 dollar co pay.

I lived in the US for Ten Years and this is my experience

Having insurance to cover me was prohibitively expensive for my employer a British Company to source from an American insurer over $6 K a year not including co-pay, rehab, or if necessary Life flight back to the UK.

But my British Company had me Covered by a British insurer with a premium of approx $500 a year which covered all treatments, drugs, rehab, and if necessary Life flight back to the UK.

Yes and no - in terms of the quality of the health care. America has really good health care. In terms of the availability of that health care.
