How would abortion laws change when Harris becomes president? what power does the potus have to change it?

My understanding is that when Trump was president he was able to nominate 3 people to scotus and that affected roe v wade. When Harris becomes president she can nominate to scotus. As potus can she do anything else?

if Harris became president, Roe v Wade may go back to how it was before it was overturned, it's possible but who knows. Roe v Wade for all Americans, Congress would need to pass a law that would provide the same protections Roe did, so a law that says women have a right to abortion without excessive government restrictions. It would be binding for all states. Republicans in the Senate successfully blocked the proposed Women’s Health Protection Act. And unless things change dramatically in Congress, there isn’t much chance of the bill becoming law. If the Democrats lose the House or fail to pick up seats in the Senate, the chances of pushing through any legislation protecting abortion rights would appear very slim. In his remarks on the Supreme Court decision, Biden made it clear that Roe is now on the ballot. Liberal states like Massachusetts have passed laws that codify Roe v. Wade. Now that the Supreme Court’s decision is out, expect similar moves elsewhere. Other states are going a step further by protecting residents who help out-of-state women seeking abortion. Such laws would seemingly counter moves by states like Missouri, which is seeking to push through legislation that would criminalize helping women who go out of state for abortions.

In my state who knows, I'm from Alabama and abortion is illegal. Like our governor signed it to where a woman is not allowed an abortion especially if she's been a victim of rape and/or incest.

I'm voting blue cause I do have friends that even though they currently live in blue states anything can change. One of my friends had to get an emergency abortion after she suffered a miscarriage. Before it happened she was planning on visiting a friend in North Carolina but was nervous cause what if something went wrong while she was traveling. Unfortunately, she lost the baby and had to have an emergency abortion. I'm against abortion unless it's for medical purposes and I wish my friend kept the baby cause she was looking forward to being a mom, and when she said her and husband are waiting until after the election to decide whether or not they want to try again broke my heart, and I hate that some women are having to wait to start families after the election. No couple should ever have to go through that.

She will change it by making a law to kill your baby up to birth. That way woman can kill their baby whenever. It dosent matter if already has heartbeat no one wants the responsibility of a baby especially young girls and irresponsible girls who don't know what safe sex even is. And that way men don't have to deal with it either. Woman are more concerned about their abortions than anything else happening in the world.

The President doesn’t have power alone, they need a good Congress majority & good Senate majority… Now you might be quick to go Trump had a bigger majority when he took office 2017, why didn’t he get things done compared to the smaller majority Biden entered office with in 2021? The answer is complicated. It is about good connections in the House & Senate spanning decades, which luckily Kamala Harris has thanks to her being a former US Senator AND she is good friends with Joe Biden which brings her guidance / wisdom she needs to reach across the aisle towards Republicans who seem bitter at compromising or working in a non partisan & bipartisan way.

Kamala Harris has vowed she’ll introduce a Reproductive Health overhaul bill that will bring Roe V. Wade 50+ years of legal precedent back into law since Congress & Senate are part of the legislative branch and can actively pass a bill to be placed on the President’s desk where she signs it into law.

Kamala Harris has also made a pledge to reintroduce the Border Funding Bill which would not only increase border agents at the border, increase wages of those serving the southern border, and install Fentanyl detectors at ALL border crossings to ensure no more illegal substances coming into this country (especially since the majority are legal citizens smuggling the Fentanyl in), etc. while Trump has made no such pledge or shown a plan except empty words like the same talking points of 2016, 2020. “I have concepts of a plan”(when talking about replacement of Obamacare, still doesn’t have a solution nearly a decade later) also failed to produce ‘Infrastructure Week’ while President Biden & Slim Democratic Majority got it done.

unconnected though, you should reconsider. You should be able to see that she isn't going to do any of the things you want or need. not only is almost everything she says (when it's coherent) is an overt lie, and it's not even difficult to recognize 😂 like things we already have proof of ("no active military overseas") a fake southern accent, changes policy stances depending on which state she's in. for christ's sake she can't even get through an interview without a teleprompter. POTUS has no power to change abortion. Neither does Congress. It would take a constitutional amendment, which POTUS and Congress could propose, but getting the required number of states to pass it... not gonna happen.

Not much aside from executive orders and signing things into law.  If everything goes well, roe may be codified.
