Right-wing parties occasionally have pro-life speeches but we had a referendum on it in our case. Two actually, but none had a binding 50% participation. The "Yes" won in the second one with 44% and the law was finally changed in Portugal in 2007. Hopefully forever?

The consequences of strict abortion laws, are nefarious and well known. If you want an European example there's Poland. The Polish people rose above it and are trying to fix it despite their oppressive government.

Roe Vs Wade is from 1973. The United States of America, sovereignly, took that decision. It is as much a civil right conquest as anything else, and restrictions on freedoms is as un- American as anything else too.
