I think the most likely outcome is that they will modify the existing law by readdressing what constitutes "viable," because the 20-week mark was basically made up, and it's now scientifically known that "life" begins long before that, even before detectable heartbeat. Even if they outright threw out federal abortion laws (which in my opinion they should), it would become entirely a state issue, so a couple states would ban it in full, some states would more or less mimic the laws that Texas has, most would basically keep the current standard unchanged, and there'd be *those* states that have legal abortion basically up to and including the time of birth.
As it currently stands, the US has some of the most lenient abortion laws in the world.
Absolutely, as it should be. There really should not even be a debate. We all agree that killing a baby is not justifiable. If I went up to a 1-year-old and shot them just because I did not want to be a parent, I would (rightly) be seen as an evil monster. Same thing with a baby in the womb. That baby cannot defend itself. My state would prosecute an abortion as a murder with aggravating circumstances.
They (libtards) can yank them up out by rusty coathangers. Yet call me a murderer because I won't take the coof jab. Funny world we live in. Would they like it if the baby daddy's bounced if they decide to keep it? fuck libtards.
Probably not in New York. I may get some downvotes for this but Idc if people think of abortion as murder because I believe in bodily autonomy. I will always be pro-choice whether abortion is banned in my state or not.
I don't like the idea of them banning things like chemical abortion or morning after pills.
My state would likely ban it somewhat, it wouldn't be a 100% but unsure of how much they would restrict it.

People asking why should the state have a decision. Well first off state's rights is a thing. Each state should be governed according to the desires of it's own population. Each state has laws specifying all kinds of things. What is and is not considered a deadly weapon. What is and is not considered a felony. As another said you have 50 states to choose from. Find one that works for you.
"Leaving lefists panicked"...
What kind of horseshit is that? With that byline it is immediately evident that it is not worth watching/reading further as it is written by those the ilk of the Taliban.
More like being extremely disturbing to anyone who feels that women should be in charge of their own bodies.
It's time for women to be held to the same standard as men. Don't want to be a parent? Don't have sex. If you have sex you're accepting that you might become a parent and have to be a responsible adult.
My state might ban abortions, and that would most likely be held up in the state and federal courts for years.
If there's going to be a change, and there may not be, it will be years before it takes effect.
Nope. But it's a decision that belongs at the state level, not the federal.
lets hope they do, or at least allow states the rights to out law the murder of babies
The title is dumb and shows the whole problem. Why is the court deciding limits. They simply decide is something align with the Constitution or not. It’s like Americans have forgotten basic civics.
Congress writes the laws
Executive Branch (president) enforces the laws
Courts interpret the laws.
Roe v Wade happened because there is no federal law. Why? Because Congress is full of cowards. It is a radioactive topic.
Big government conservatives love to control citizens. Some want to make it illegal not to be a "Christian." Of course the new definition of Christian is "gun nut."
dont blame Christians, blame the conservatives who are fucking nuts and will use any excuse to push their inability to hold on to what they can't let go.
No way. We wouldn't stand for it and our elected officials know that
New York, I don’t think so because it’s so materialistic here and people can just go to Canada quickly while New York would want that money. I’m leaving the states anyway and it won’t happen till June.
I don't think they should, but we're a red state. Why should it be the state's decision. I get separation of powers, but why should it be decided at the state level?
It should be up to the states. The fed overstepped it’s authority
I sure hope that it would!! But our governor isn't really so great at his job, so probably not. :(
Honestly, who cares? There are 50 goddamned states. Find one that works for you.
I'm not sure if mine would. Even though we're a red state we usually vote pretty purple.
This is what I never thought of being litigation as much as the woman or girl's choice.
Some would, others not.
Probably congress would have to pass a bill.
The Supreme court will not overturn it
I live in an ultra liberal state. So not banned.
I'm sorry to hear that
Its likely and I would not be in favor of it.
