What Do You Think Would Happen If A National Abortion Ban Was Put In Place?

So yesterday's question (I'll insert a link below and you can check it out) I asked the lovely people on here whether or not they support abortion and whether or not they support an national abortion ban. Now what if a national abortion ban was put in place meaning in the United States abortion was illegal and made criminalized, and women who needed abortions were forbidden to leave the states to receive their abortions either in Canada or overseas. In your opinion if it was to happen what do you honestly see happening here in the states with abortion not only being banned/illegal, but anyone trying to access will be criminalized and jailed, and doctor's who performed or tried to perform will be prosecuted to the fullest.

Do You Support A National Abortion Ban? Why or Why Not?

Rapists have MORE control over the female body. That is what happens when you ban it nationally. Politicians putting a leash on VICTIMS and forcing them to obey.

Think about ALL Victims from incest, rape, child sex abuse, sexual assault, birth control failure, miscarriage, high risk pregnancy, and more.

This isn’t just about abortion, it is about victims who understand the seriousness of carrying a pregnancy to term with a struggling bleak looking financial situation, maybe she is going through a mental health struggle or perhaps her physical well being isn’t in good shape to survive & thrive…. All those raise concerns about how can she possibly raise that child well, carry it to term, put food on the table, grapple with the events before her that will make her stress, anxiety, quality of life crumble…. That is no life for her or a being in general to go through.

Imagine going through the pain of a miscarriage… It is a loss of what was going to be your child…. Now you head to the clinic to get the fetus removed for your health, safety, well being maybe to have a proper funeral for him/her… Then the clinic refuses you care to remove the dead baby because they might go to jail under the new legislative ban. You are left to go on a death sentence because politicians didn’t see your life as a priority.

Victims need healthcare and bodily autonomy because it matters, it’s their life & livability at stake. A full out ban wouldn’t protect more life, it would come at the cost of victims’ lives. We can disagree and have a healthy conversation about “what about the women who abort their baby for sex” or something, the solution / demand to legislatures shouldn’t be to put the woman’s bodily autonomy on the chopping block for good because Maternal Deaths Increased in Texas & other states with Abortion Bans…. Clearly there is a correlation that Pro Life = Death of The Woman if it goes to their extreme. That is why we believe in Pro Choice. It isn’t Pro Abortion, it is freedom of choice.

The victim can talk to healthcare providers, talk to family, talk to a Reverend, talk to a Priest or Church Goer, a nun or what have you…. It is still their choice before making the decision to. Whatever that decision is, promise me it is a good one when it saves a woman in need. Thank you.

outside of violent protests and riots will happen but nothing major in the long run

abortion being banned would be a good thing and people will have to learn to adapt, grow up and take responsibility instead of being stuck as overgrown children

certain laws would also become stricter. punishments for rape would include the death penalty. doctors who purposely refuse to give premature births but purposely delay for abortions should be sued for negligent. abortion is far more dangerous than giving birth but abortionists will never tell you that

slave owners had to eventually accept the fact slavery became illegal

abortionists can learn to deal with it eventually

and don't bother mentioning abortion being done illegally underground as a result otherwise we should make illegal pornography legal so it wouldn't go underground

Mortality rates would go up EVEN MORE, and EVEN MORE women would be jailed for having miscarriages, and a lot of other bad stuff too that's already happening in places where it's banned, would happen EVEN MORE and even more extremely. I hope we wouldn't just take this lying down either. Very bad time overall...

It would have the obvious exceptions like rape, health, etc. So for those edge cases people like to strawman the issue with nothing would change. But in general there would be less murdered babies.

The Supreme Court would strike it down, with the same reasoning that it struck down Roe v Wade, that the Federal Government does not have the Constitutional power to do it, that power rests with the individual states.
