Disclaimer: I have some friends who support abortion and I have some that do not support abortion. Some don't support abortion due to religion while others support abortion because it's a human right that needs to be protected.
Abortion is health care. Your religious beliefs may tell you that it's "murder", but that depends on your religion. Not only THAT, it depends on the ERA you live in. That's right, Catholics. There was an ERA when the Church was on board with abortion until "the time of ensoulment", which was around 12 weeks (as IF they really knew anyway!) As for the Hebrews, they believed life began at "first breath". Look it up.
Every religion has their own belief, which is precisely WHY religion shouldn't make the laws governing abortion, or any other laws either!!
There's about a 1.5 - two year lag for data on abortions since Roe was overturned the scumbags on SCOTUS. The data coming in is NOT pretty, nor what they hoped for. Texas, for example. Maternal mortality - up 56% compared to a nationwide increase of 11%. In other words, their restrictive policies are killing women, for no damn reason. Also, An estimated 145 excess neonatal deaths were observed in the post-policy period (March to December 2022).
And that is just Texas. It will be the same, and worse, in every red state. Some red states no longer have maternal care units in their hospitals. Overturning Roe has caused MORE deaths, both infant and maternal, than abortions were ever causing.
I haven't even addressed the arguments about "when life begins"; who determines that? It's not a slam dunk, so until it is...
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A UTERUS, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT and let those who DO make SAFE decisions with their doctors, and keep your damn religion out of the bedroom and out of the Legislature!
Abortion should be banned except for the first 3 months and medical emergencies.
I think people should not be allowed to have children freely because humans are not responsible enough for this these days.
It should be mandatory for them to get a license at least before getting the right to have a child to put a minimum bar on whether the financial and mental stability of the couple is good or not.
Even a license is required for driving a car so having a child is a bigger deal than that.
But I know no government will do this

For the life of me, I can't fathom what is wrong with an early term abortion. The fetus has no brain or nervous system yet. It has no consciousness and doesn't suffer.
I do have a problem with elective abortions after the first trimester. But there should be no prohibition against late term abortions if they are necessary for the health of the mother and fetus.
This is the only issue with which I agree with Democrats.

I generally agree with most of this. The only thing I would add is that my money via tax dollars shouldn't be used to pay for other people's abortions.

The organization itself is also very spiteful. When Roe Verses Wade was overturned, they closed a number of their locations in red states. Why? Even if those particular states cut their state and/or local level funding, and those states also made abortions illegal, they're still funded with federal dollars and millions of dollars in donations, and women near those locations in those states still need those essential non-abortion services you pointed out.

@Lliam It's not about their core mission. I'm just not a fan of the organization itself. Or maybe more accurately, the people who run the organization. They're like the DMV of women's care. Maybe an awkward comparison would be is that I'm a proud Union member, but I'm also not a big fan of those currently running my Union. Or, I personally don't like Trump, but I'm definitely voting for Trump. Anyway, I feel like I'm nitpicking, so I'll agree to disagree. 👍

That appears sensible to me. If a woman is too lazy or stupid to master birth control and too lazy or stupid to make arrangements in the first trimester then I don't think she should get a late term.

I'm against a national abortion ban, but I also don't "support" abortion. I'm morally pro-life and legally pro-choice. I would hope that people would choose life, but understand the many situations dictate otherwise. Abortion is neither Constitutional nor unconstitutional, because abortion isn't mentioned in the Constitution. I'm also against my tax dollars being used for other people's abortions. Have your abortions, it's none of my legal business, just have them without my money.

Abortion is human right. Why should give someone birth to children when they can't afford or give them care they need? Of course if Christians or other religiously indoctrinated people want give birth to children despite they can't afford them, it's their choice and should be their problem. But why the hack it should be a law in a specularly ruled society?
I believe ensoulment occurs at some point in the pregnancy, ie life has a spiritual component that is beyond materialist conceptions.
However, it is a complicated moral issue, and people deserve their own views and freedom.
I would probably just rather decrease the number of weeks at which you can get an abortion. According to Google it is 23 weeks in the UK, and yet, according to google again, 2/3 can survive if born at 24 weeks.

Technically there is already a national abortion ban given that the United States Declaration of Independence explicitly states:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Being that all men have an unalienable right to life, the real question is will states follow the law that already exists?
It's weird for you to say that abortion is a human right that needs to be protected. What is abortion after all? It's the murdering of someone's family member after you have sex with them? No, because, in some cases, an abortion is needed to save someone's life. My ex-fiance, for instance. I got her pregnant and the Dr. told her that there was a great chance the kid would be another stillborn and that this time, it could kill her, too!

I do not support the government controlling any private matter involving consenting adults. Abortion is just that a private matter between a pregnant woman and her doctor.
This idea that a fetus is a child is simply a modern fiction. It is contrary to science and biblical understanding (biblically life begins with the first breath independent of the mother. Even Mosaic Law differentiates between murder and causing a woman to lose a baby).
I'm pro choice, but anti-Roe. I do NOT support a national abortion ban. I don't really support any national policy on abortion and think the states should decide. And while I would personally support choice with no restriction for the first trimester and VERY heavy restriction for the third, in my personal life I'd be pretty against abortion and for instance would advise my daughter against it if she got knocked up by a boyfriend.
I'm right wing and I support abortion, I just think the guidelines and rules for timelines and complications should be clearer, as state to state it varies greatly and some leftist politicians have said some insane things about timelines.
I also do not feel very strongly about this though, it's not a major issue in my perspective but I understand how a girl would feel differently.

When Obama was in office, Democrats controlled the House and Senate and should have codified Roe v Wade, but they didn't because abortion is too useful of a fundraising tool and scare tactic. If Democrats codified Roe v Wade they wouldn't be able to scare voters into voting Democrat.
